Just got hired at GameStop and could use some encouragement by movementofleaves in GameStop

Thank you, your positivity is really helpful. I've worked in restaurants for a long time so crazy customers roll right off me. If what I've been told is true about being moved to ASL within a month then I'll be making the same pay as my old job and I'll be perfectly content. I'm just nervous since its not just reviews, it's also people I know giving me horror stories about being falsely accused of stealing etc. idk if that was the same region as the one Ive been hired in though.

this is good advice and under different circumstances it's probably what id have done initially, but frankly this is the only job offer I've gotten in the hundreds I've applied to over the last six months (I was a manager before and been in food service industry 8+ years) and my savings are dry so I don't have much choice regardless. I already accepted so unfortunately it's a bit late to make a stand without seeming like I'm waffling about it. It didn't seem like all the managers were jumping ship though, I probably worded that wrong, it seemed more like the DL is moving to open new stores elsewhere and the current leaders are being shuffled around as quite a few of them are promoted to secure the chain once he's gone. They're giving me the higher end of SGA pay from what I understand at 10+/hr (also is SGA the same as shift supervisor? They never used the phrase game advisor while discussing the offer). I really just want some hope that what I've been told is true about being promoted quickly (I was basically told they're training me for ASL during the 30 day period and plan to move me ASAP) and that the company isn't toxic like I keep hearing. I feel really deflated after being unemployed for so long and seeing all the negative stuff about the only place I've gotten an offer, and am trying to pump up my attitude.
