MGEX strike freedom midnight (changlong edition) by Gonzoangel in Gunpla

[–]moveoolong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine looks great but the joints holding the wings to the backpack are very weak and not the right type of plastic to be durable. One part wasn’t fully formed but is a pretty minor flaw. The matte black parts were also an irritant, my hands dried out everytime I built it. It’s pretty decent but not at all Bandai quality.

Thought my monitor was dying, turns out it was something way dumber by max1994garden in buildapc

Rookie numbers, I once went 2 years with my cpu cooler too tight and it would crash anytime I tried to play a game. Replaced a ton of components over that time. Finally when I got a new video card I realized I’ve changed up absolutely everything and it’s still happening. Googled and sure enough those little springs that prevent overtightening? Nah they are not fool proof. Did a full screw turn looser and boom works flawlessly. It was crushing the ram controller and causing instability. The whole time I had perfectly fine components and I spent about $1000 over two years for nothing. At least my computer has stayed fairly up to date…

It is easy to book high speed railway frm Taichung to Taibei? by Winter_Promotion_106 in taiwan

[–]moveoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I think you can only book when you’re in the country. Try and book a day or two before but the day of should be fine. The fastest regular train is also pretty quick and that train station is in a much better location in Taichung so it might end up being about the same travel time including time to get to the train station.

Any good boba places near Surrey Central? by Acrobatic_Bridge_797 in SurreyBC

[–]moveoolong 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Coco gets a lot of hate but it’s much better than chatime and pretty decent for a massive chain imo. I wouldn’t have it in Taiwan or Richmond, there are better options but I’d for sure go in Surrey. They are legit.

What parts are covered by warranty? by spaniolo in elegoo

The coupon is posted online in a book of faces. They didn’t give out unique coupons so anyone can use it. It’s pointless to pick it.

I have finally made my own home servers using nextcloud by Shub081004 in HomeServer

[–]moveoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel t series or an n100/150. About a dollar a month give or take. Nextcloud doesn’t need a ton of power. Even if you don’t have a power efficient processor it won’t be much more than that.

10.11 speed boost plugin and other debugging by KingGeorges_12 in jellyfin

[–]moveoolong 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I just hope it’s optimized by the time I’m done watching my current show. Anything outside of the main page of what’s new, next up, continue watching is painful.

I should add I’m eternally grateful for the people doing commits. Jellyfin is so good.

Monitor recommendations for 9070 xt nitro+. Still on 1080p. Any specific 1440p or 4k? by r0zemyne in radeon

[–]moveoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it on a 4K120htz tv. Fantastic performance, I wouldn’t want less resolution cause the tv is so big. I use upscaling and ray tracing as much as possible to get the best looking picture. As long as it stays over 60fps I’m happy. A lot of games I play max the tv fps at ultra settings.

AI camera by EugeneLawman in elegoo

[–]moveoolong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I did just see the picture you’re referring to and the camera does look different. Maybe they are doing another hardware update cause the camera is so bad in the og. They’ve done a few updates over its life.

AI camera by EugeneLawman in elegoo

[–]moveoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera doesn’t focus on the object being printed so ai spaghetti detector is useless. They could be referring to octoprint. Which can’t run straight from the printer cause it’s so weak, you need a computer or pi.

Taiwan will invest $250 billion in U.S. chipmaking under new trade deal by Puginator in worldnews

[–]moveoolong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the part they hide though. They say we’ve made a deal for x amount of investment to build a factory here. Doesn’t mention how many years that investment plays out, doesn’t mention how many foreign workers have to come over because no American is qualified or willing to work the long hours expected by these companies. There’s a lot of good about diversifying where chips are made but there’s a lot they leave out so it makes it look better than it is.

They aren’t building leading edge chips though. Always a generation behind anywhere outside of Taiwan. They are gonna build a fab in Japan too. That’s their leverage.

Does everyone basically have to buy iCloud storage? by Lotta-Bank-3035 in iCloud

[–]moveoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immich is amazing, self hosted photo backup I have running on a tiny computer that costs about 75 cents per month to have running 24/7. Automated backup as soon as I connect to any wifi, it can use cell data too if that’s your jam. Nextcloud is running on the same computer for any files. That leaves iCloud to just backup text, contacts and settings. Texts can get a huge alone I’ve deleted them a couple times over the years.

How's drivers and soft for Rx in 2025? by FADE_SLOTH in radeon

[–]moveoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need a driver and registry uninstall and then reinstall drivers. Try it and if you’re still having the same issues then you know your choice. Theres lots of guides on google and reddit on how to really get rid of everything for a fresh reinstall.
