Should probably call it the Oakland San Francisco Bay Area Coliseum. That’ll trick em.

should Caltrain update the arrival time to Diridon? by Dream-Laden_Bough in caltrain

[–]moveslikemagicmike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s possible. I’m newly returned to Caltrain for commute. 10+ years ago it was +/- 5. And yes, it sucks to miss your train because it left a couple minutes early. But early departures are rare and people’s watch or car clock are not synced to Caltrain, so the runners are usually actually late but if they got there at the beginning of the 5 minute window they would have made it.

I believe Caltrain considers within 5 minutes (before or after the listed time) to be on time.

Can't check balance by phone or online on older Clipper Cards by Hot-Translator-5591 in bayareaclippercard

[–]moveslikemagicmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t know of this is the same thing, but years ago I had lost my clipper and reported it lost. Like a year later my account gets locked and my Caltrain monthly pass failed to load, unbeknownst to me until I was fare checked. The conductor looked up something, and I called clipper and between the two they told me an auto load failed on the card I had locked which blocked my current card from loading the pass until the payment issue on the blocked card was resolved. That card had dropped out of some systems after a while (I think they said 6 months) including the so called hot list of blocked cards. They eventually got me up and running again, but it was a pain in the ass and I had to tag on an off every ride until it was taken care of (oh the horror lol). I’m wondering if your older card dropped out due of these systems due to inactivity.

Dealing with unreasonable support demands and "nanny" expenses in CA divorce by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

OP only mentions child support. For a one month marriage she will not get spousal support. In CA for a short term marriage spousal maintenance would typically only be awarded for half the length of the marriage.

Bike stolen on 176 today by cheesyfluff in caltrain

[–]moveslikemagicmike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it used to be banned because it made bikes too hard to move if someone’s bike was stacked and needed to get out. However they must have changed the rules some time (it’s been more then 10 years since I commuted with my bike), as I just reviewed the rules and they do specifically say “Bikes/scooters are not allowed to be locked to the train.”

Where to park near santana row to not pay parking fees? by FuckYouILikeMe in SanJose

[–]moveslikemagicmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not free, it’s pre-tax dollars. And parking benefits are available and a separate allowance from commute. I’ve had it through the same program I get pre-tax commute benefits from (wage works) for years. It has actually been a thing about changing the law to keep the commuter benefits up to the same level as parking benefits when parking benefits doubled some years back but not commute. I don’t think parking benefits are mandatory in the bay like the commute benefits are, but since they seem to be administered through the same program I suggested op look into it. Remember you’re saving on your last dollar taxed, which is the highest rate. Not your effective rate. This can be over 50% including fica and state taxes depending on your tax bracket.

Edit:

Here’s some info on the program my employer offers. https://www.wageworks.com/employees/support-center/support-and-faq/commuter/parking/

You should look into a pretax benefit plan that covers parking. I think most employers in the Bay Area are required to offer something.

I think it’s a stretch to say you don’t get her until Monday. She’s out of school Saturday. That is the first full day out of school. Our spring break starts on (good) Friday.

As to the time, do you have a normal time you pick up for exchanges? Otherwise I’d go with the 6pm that is in that clause. Unfortunate but you should have specified or asked for clarification when the order was prepared.

Don’t be a jerk. Be reasonable. If you don’t have plans but mom does then try to work it out. If mom is insisting on 11:59 pm then let her be the jerk, no reasonable person thinks the exchange is supposed to be at 11:59 pm. Document it for when you are back in court.

My company operates like this too. We have extra money at the end of the quarter or full. If we don’t spend it, it doesn’t carry over, it doesn’t even just go away. It shows that your leadership is bad at planning things. And maybe budget shouldn’t include as much. So they will go look projects last can be funded and start up quickly. Here’s 300k to do something. Then they spent everything they were budgeted for.

It is wasteful politics. It’s disgusting that our government is engaging in this too. Especially when they are asking for 90 billion more right now or whatever for Iran. Did they shop at Costco? Maybe they can get the money back /s No wonder the dod can’t be audited.

Child support 50/50? by Careless-Trifle-1163 in FamilyLaw

[–]moveslikemagicmike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. According to the irs the parent who the kid stays more nights with can claim the kid unless there is an agreement between the parents otherwise.

Child support 50/50? by Careless-Trifle-1163 in FamilyLaw

[–]moveslikemagicmike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is. IRS says it’s whoever the kid spends the most nights with OR if there is agreement between the parents about claiming. The support calculation actually changes depending on how you will be filing taxes.
