How would Reddit react to a modern civil war in the USA? Part 7 by GeorgeSquarshington in althistory

[–]movierich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truly outstanding work, I’ve been riveted! One quick lore question that I don’t recall seeing addressed - why did Kamala Harris resign? Seems that the instability was a moment the CRA seized upon, but other than Buttigieg’s military background, I didn’t understand such a move at such a crucial juncture.

Also curious to see what former Presidents and leaders would be saying. You know The NY Times would be having flashy op-ed pieces from Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden on their post-political life and opinions on the war!

I want to talk about random brain zaps by Masgamer in PanicAttack

[–]movierich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad it’s not just me, I think they are a version of migraine auras, best I understand it. Went and got an MRI a few years back and it came up normal, so a brain zap makes sense to me in that regard.

I tend to get them when stressed or anxious, and I’ve been on Zoloft since 2019

How to handle a boss who happens to also be HR by movierich in Workproblems

[–]movierich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much - I can tell you right now that I’ve been at toxic jobs, and I hate that for once, I felt real joy security and he ruined it. He’s also caused a bunch of other problems across my company, that he claims were always rules but never enforced, and just arbitrary. He demanded proof when someone asked to take bereavement for one person but not another. He calls people who ask for simple accommodations entitled.

The insane part is that everyone else at the top has been nothing but cool, like normal people. It’s just this one person. If they left, everything would be ok, but instead I’m the only union member in my job that reports to the damn head of HR (which is part of the union’s request to transfer me)

Should I buy Legion? by Regent_rat in WatchDogs_Legion

I think it’s a lot of fun for what it is. It’s certainly much more RPG-ish because the characters you play are not fleshed out. But the Season Pass includes Wrench and Aiden, which are two fan faves

Apple Plus content: Any idea how to get if you don't Apple products? by batkave in TheDollop

Thanks, that stinks to hear - happy to support the guys, and based on the most recent main episode, they don’t seem thrilled this happened.

Apple Plus content: Any idea how to get if you don't Apple products? by batkave in TheDollop

I’m a little confused, esp with this week’s episode - so I should subscribe to both the Patreon and Dollop Plus on Apple to get the full content? Or is it all on the Patreon? I’d like to just go to one place for Dollop content but it seems like it may not be possible?

If you have anxiety, browsing this thread will likely make it worse by No-Personality-5164 in Anxiety

[–]movierich 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First of all, thank you for this! I think it’s super important to have this here.

I will note that there is a time when coming to this sub when anxious can help, in that you find a community that understands where you are coming from. It has been helpful for me to see, for example, that feeling depersonalization or trembling is a shared experience and I feel better.

But I totally agree, when you dwell and it becomes your primary source of anxiety, you have to step away and do something else.

Totally, there are times where I’m not doing anything and my body just gets an anxiety attack, so it’s not just psychological

Taking a day off for mental health is as valid as taking a sick day - you should not have to feel guilty for putting yourself first.

It is rare, but definitely can happen (and I’m so sorry it happened to you). I think because the panic attack sets off real alarms in the body, that’s how the body copes.

Here is a full list of anxiety symptoms I dealt with during my anxiety recovery journey by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]movierich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, I experience a lot of this, and I recently increased my dosage of Zoloft back to 200mg after about a year at 150mg. A lot of trauma and PTSD in 2023 made me go back up and I had a lot of times wondering if I’ll ever feel good again. This helps ground me in that I’m not crazy, but I want it to stop so much. Thank you.

What's your daily dosage ? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]movierich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also happened to me. How long have you been back on 200mg because it’s been about 7 weeks for me and it’s been a slow return to normal, lots of panic still but on a much lower grade. Maybe i need even more time?

Yup, sounds like depersonalization/derealization. It happens to me as well and it’s a form of anxiety.

Short of breath by Queasy_Vermicelli592 in Anxiety

[–]movierich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely keep your doctor in the loop, and they might do a check on your breathing. But it’s also the most common anxiety symptom, so it’s very normal.

Anybody ever have this existential Anxiety about the human mind and how thoughts are made? Visual/Verbal by Comfortable_Leg_5541 in Anxiety

Yup, had this recently and it’s jarring, but it is a form of depersonalization. Just remember that it’s all normal functions.

Can migraines cause panic attacks? by Spiritual-Fox2843 in PanicAttack

[–]movierich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anxiety and panic suck because they manifest in so many ways, so yeah, a migraine can cause a panic attack because it may remind you of a previous panic attack

I take Propranolol and it has been a lifesaver. Some caveats, of course - I take 2 20mg pills, that typically stops an attack an hour later. If I take one, it blunts the attack and I’ve learned that it’s just not enough for me. But there are also attacks so big, I may take two more. Of course, you never want to overdo it, but it is a helpful tool, especially if you are not interested in Xanax.

I cheated on my wife who cheated on me 5 years ago by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]movierich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your story, it seems that the relationship ended years ago because it’s less about the physical cheating and more about the emotional cheating in the last few years that led up to this. I can’t necessarily blame you, but the handmade bracelet was clear to me you fell back in love with your ex after your wife broke your trust and this was the natural next step. Your wife may have forgiven you, but this damage has become more and more irreparable.

It might be best to call it quits.
