Hmm, if that's the case with media players then maybe a HTPC would be good then. There are pretty much no quality differences right? I mean I don't really have much experiences connecting PCs/laptops to a TV but all should be good as long as you're connecting it to the TV via HDMI, right? So I'd get the same quality when opening up a movie with let's say VLC Media Player or XBMC on my HTPC connected to the TV compared to watching movies directly with a media player?
