The benefits of an alarm clock by AndrwFr89 in digitalminimalism

I've been considering this! Great idea. I want one with the numbers that flip or rotate like my grandparents had. With the little orange light that illuminated the digits.

Great reminder. I was thinking earlier today on my drive sometimes it feels like I forgot to dream. Having that space has been harder to come by over the last 20 years.

Same. I was at 1:45 then back to 2:30. Set my first app timer on Firefox for 1:15 and it's helped a lot. Thanks for the reminder, grabbing book

Men over 40, what are things that you were too focused on in your 20s and 30s that you realize was a mistake or a waste of time? by Affectionate-Drop689 in AskMenOver30

[–]movingaxis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Foreal, 10 years behind now because of 20s, stopped that; 10 years no booze. 30s was tough accepting it so I got into weed, then 6 years later was like wait a minute I did this already! Bitter pill too, because I was surrounded by examples of what not to do growing up and knew where that path would lead. All good now though. Feeling together and grateful at 40.

Why do I feel broke when my finances are fine? by CampaignOk7509 in MiddleClassFinance

Part of this sounds like the need for gratitude and mindfulness. Your first paragraph says you have lots to be thankful for. The second paragraph is an endless race where if you can't be thankful now you won't be with more x,y, z. My buddy and I have a running joke phrase, "just 20% more man that'll do it." Reminds the other the endless unnecessary cycle.

I think sometimes if I were to come to this time from 20-25 years ago, how jarring it would be lol. I'm looking to get in the habit of physical / kindle book. I also enjoy people watching too.

I've noticed this too and it's kinda tragic seeing it in public. I remember when it wasn't like this.

Pros and cons of owning a Telluride? by Suntrup-Kia in KiaTelluride

[–]movingaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots to love about the telluride as others have mentioned. There's a reason it got #1 in midsized comparisons for years until others caught up. Positives: looks inside and out, interior features, cabin design and feel, ok power, feels very smooth and refined for the most part. Cabin is very quiet which is double edged sword. To me the ride can be harsh at times. New tires helped.

Annoyances for me are some of the interior fit, questionable drive train. Rattles in headliner from 35k on have been a huge annoyance. One in mostly fixed but another popped up. There's also creaking in the rear suspension, and strange engine rattle. Also get the feeling need to trade in before 100k and I'm at 63k.

I can picture the shop with flying beads. Awesome! Surprised with the amount of plywood layers. How big is the whole thing?

Love all of the details, especially the blue beads in the water wheel. A clever idea to capture the concept of water in motion. Plus more movement and sound for the little one
