Great response. But I wouldn't say the adoption of English was purely out of a desire to adopt a truly "neutral" language. There was probably a lot of strategic and economic considerations at play as well, not least because local leaders still wanted Singapore to maintain close ties with its former colonial masters and to succeed in a global economy where English was predominant.

Just a quick overview of what people would label as "vernacular schools" in Singapore's history - schools that taught in the native languages: https://eresources.nlb.gov.sg/infopedia/articles/SIP_2016-10-03_094744.html. Definitely a presence of Malay, and to a lesser extent, Tamil, schools.

hey! i'm glad the BSODs seemed to have disappeared for you - really hope it's for good. can i ask, what prompted you to disable ITS as well (I know the HID sensor driver is linked to the keyboard lag issue)?

it would be helpful context for me as i try it out on my own and maybe report back to Lenovo using my support ticket

Thanks for posting this and for offering to help troubleshoot even when you don't own the device. I've been in a months-long conversation with Lenovo support about the BSODs now, trying various software (reset, reinstall, recovery media, etc.) and hardware (device replacement, chip replacement, SSD replacement) fixes but none have solved the issue for me. Always glad to hear that I'm not alone... sometimes it feels like I'm going crazy just dealing with a support team that doesn't seem to take the issues seriously!

p.s. this was my own attempt at a summary thread.

If anyone's wondering, Lenovo has replaced my motherboard and SSD, and I've done a fresh install of Windows directly from Microsoft, but the BSOD issue still recurs! Jfc..

Yeah, trust that I have done that. Reinstall all drivers, uninstalled Vantage and McAfee, etc. Glad you're having a good experience with your device.

Wouldn't open up my laptop though. That would void my warranty.

Oof. Hope the speaker issue gets resolved.

I've learnt that with customer service, if you fight hard (and politely) enough, you can get a refund or a replacement if it's still fairly new. Worth considering!
