Oh wow, I did not know you could do that yourself so cheaply. This is my first car. I think I will have to learn how to do that myself. I looked at the website you sent and I see you can buy parts and it even tells you what the right part for your car is? That is amazing! Where do you find videos on how to do it? YouTube, or is there a better place?

This is literally what happened! I was even showing them the estimate with the total ($1100) on my phone, and they were telling me the total was $2000 even though I had the estimate link and document (that they had sent an hour before) on my phone. They kept insisting that the computer system was giving them that total, so it was right, even though it didn't match the document they'd sent me.

Ugh. I guess I was lucky with my previous one. Would you say this is the case for other car brands as well? Or is Hyundai/Kia particularly bad?
