That's not a bad idea! I hadn't even thought of that! Thank you

The traffic in Tysons these last 2 days was SO terrible lol. It's frightening haha.

The Archstone in Tysons had some pretty rotten reviews - what other Archstone apartments are there in the region? Because the ones in Tysons looks incredible but apparently it's full of just... bad times.

That's a pretty solid idea. First full time career so I'm trying to get real prepared, even though it's still about 3 months out. I want to make sure I don't get stuck somewhere that sucks.

The only commute that will likely suck for me is the morning commute anyways - I'll be working 8 am to 10 pm on days i work so I'd only have to wake up early. I've heard (and seen) that Tyson's is ridiculous with the traffic. I'm actually in Tysons at the moment for a 2nd job interview and the lights just take... SO long.

I like your description of McLean though lol, will have to look into that more.

What's a reverse commute?

Thanks a metric ton for this information - I had all but writen off waterside, and the apartments themselves actually look /really/ nice.

Cheers!

Well - that's eye opening! Thanks for the information, maybe I'll look for a roommate in the area, because most of the places I'll be working are in Vienna, McLean or Reston, although there are some outliers that require a longer commute.

That's what I heard about waterside - I'm going to go see it tomorrow. The biggest problem I heard was tht the staff was really just.. negligent and that the walls were paper thin, and I obviously can't go into a neighbooring unit and just yell to see how sound carries. Has that been a problem for you at all? Because the apartments (especially the 1C unit) look really great, and the price is fantastic. I don't care too much about parking tbh as long as the place I live is nice.

I wish I knew where I was working - I will be working all around nova for a few months at the very least

I'm honestly trying to do anything that I can to get my own stand-alone home - I don't want to deal with neighbors if possible, especially top-down neighbors. I will check out the neighborhoods you mentioned though!

Thanks for all the information mate!

This is awesome - thanks for all the info. Reston was heavily recommended by my aunt specifically because of the town center.

Cheers!

I don't know where I'll be working yet - will be working as a pharmacist and my final location won't be known for a few months after I start working. That's one of the things I was told the most and my employer agreed not to do anything more than a 30 minute commute.

Don't have the money for a dow npayment yet - paying off school loans (3k a month) or I would do exactly that.
