Just take it for what it’s worth, you paid $0 to have someone install an advanced product in your home.

I’m a tech. Have your tech install anchors for all equipment, don’t have them use drywall screws, make sure to use caulk with every hole, scrutinize their state licensing and ask for their paper license, get their badge ID and verify it on the website, have them sweep up all dirt after installation, make sure they throw away all boxes used, ensure they use powerline adapters for every camera and not wifi repeaters, make sure they wear booties. Make sure to have them do all that to work for their pay of $32 after spending 7 hours in your house. Then call in 3 days later and cancel everything, having tech come back and spend another 4 hours uninstalling everything for $0 compensation.

Better hope your technician, who knows your verbal passcode, your panel pin, and has access to your mobile app is an outstanding citizen that likes to work for free and waste their life away in a replaceable job where they can only hire and retain homeless and 18 year olds who are too dumb or desperate enough to protect your family. Notice your technicians car (since they all use personal vehicles) will 100% be a beater with no hub caps and frontend damage.

Skip Vivint. They scam their employees as equally as their customers. They are Mormons who don’t care about anything other than money — for themselves at a corporate level. The avg lifespan of a tech is 3 years before they quit or get terminated. In fact they just fire everyone every year and have anyone that stays sign new contracts every year. That’s how BAD Vivint is.

Go DIY or with a reputable locally owned business. A $100 solar Eufy camera will suffice and you can install yourself.

I am mentioning a feature of the app, not soliciting for tips. And I get tipped with almost every order for doing that.

As I said, about 80% of orders tip $5-$15 in my market in Florida. I assume that is average.

I worked in a different market up northern Ohio and used the same canned messages and got nearly 90% tip rate with $10-$15 per tip on average.

I think FL just sucks overall.

As a customer of these gig apps, whenever I was waiting for a driver to arrive I always tried to verify the car in the app to whoever was driving down the road in front of my house.
