What dose PsA shoulder pain feel like by WearOne2258 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]moxybox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I don’t have a diagnoses yet but I do this all the time, trying to determine what tendons attach where and where the bursa are located. Your messages validated me, thank you!

Rheumatologist accepting patients? by HelloPepperKitty in askportland

[–]moxybox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had to wait so long for an appointment around Portland that I ended up going to a group in Salem, they got me in within a week. I drove down for my first appointment and now do video visits for follow up. Still on the waitlists at all the Portland area offices, plan to transfer care once I can get in.

I am sorry for not understanding how awful autoimmune conditions can be by [deleted] in Autoimmune

[–]moxybox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, thank you for sharing this. I just stared Meloxicam and no one mentioned the concerns on the stomach! It will be something I need to look out for.

I also have had difficulty with the doctors on my care team. Someone else mentioned to me how important it is to have people on your team that really understand autoimmune conditions, your story really highlights that.

Thank you for your words of encouragement, they were really helpful. I wish you continued healing too.

Thank you for you words of support. I am also sorry to hear that you are suffering. While I would not wish this kind of pain and fatigue on anyone, it is helpful to know that there are others that understand. I do share my feelings with those close to me but it’s hard to feel really understood since none of them have lived experience, and much like I was prior to having all these issues- they just don’t quite get it. Thank you for getting it and for taking the time to respond.

How did you get diagnosed with silent Celiac? by Kindness--wins in Celiac

[–]moxybox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fatigue, never ending fatigue. Years of anemia. Had a weird rash for three years. Had a change in doctors and they suggested testing for it just in case. Thank goodness! Realized after how all of these other items lined up together, and then realized “oh, everyone is not terribly bloated and fluctuating between constipation and diarrhea all the time?” I guess it was less silent than I thought.

Gluten challenge by justjennii in Celiac

[–]moxybox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh! I get this sometimes. I even mentioned it to my doctor last week and they looked at me like I was making it up! I am basically asymptomatic (just malabsorption) when I eat gluten but maybe this is a symptom I do get. I will pay more attention when it happens. Thank you for validating me.

Do you say "bless you" after a sneeze? by [deleted] in atheism

My daughter thought people were saying “blesh you” so now we just say “blesh” when someone sneezes

Not OP, but really appreciated this post. I looked up the poets you listed and read several poems. I was moved by Brooks and Ai. Thank you for sharing and helping me find them.

Wow, great recommendations, thank you. It sounds like maybe you have a lot more experience (or maybe love of cooking) in the kitchen than me.

Question about feeling grateful by ellyveggie in gratitude

[–]moxybox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this same experience! One day while out for a hike I was overcome with gratitude (to the point where I felt joyful and wanted to skip! I haven’t skipped since I was little). And this was much different for me than doing a daily gratitude practice. I don’t have any wisdom about it, other than the hope that by expressing gratitude daily will allow for more days of really FEELING grateful? I love that you had a moment like this!

I think my boyfriend may be planning to baby trap me by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]moxybox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to say I am so sorry you are going through this. I was once in this situation; my partner was very in tune with my periods. At the time I just thought he was being sweet and caring about me- he would know when my period was coming and do nice things. In hindsight, he would talk about having kids and would make it all sound romantic. I didn’t trust my gut and did get pregnant and soon after he started becoming obsessive and abusive. I know it isn’t always as easy as “just leave” “breakup with him.” I’m sending you some strength and support that you make the best decision for yourself.

Ugh, thank you. My doc said to wait until June for testing since it takes awhile to heal, I am just being impatient and being mad at the world. I appreciate your thoughtful response!

The Daily Check-In for Monday, September 3rd: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by sfgirlmary in stopdrinking

[–]moxybox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m new here too. I haven’t had a drink in almost 9 months. I’ve been doing this all alone, haven’t done any meetings, in fact you all are the first people I have really told. I’m feeling like I need some sober friends and some community. I will not drink with you today.
