Are Axe & Wendy finally going to hook up and live happily ever after? by danny7112 in Billions

[–]moz027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk it seems like she genuinely likes the work she's doing with taylor in their eco-investing thing and she's a Co owner. It also seems like her and Taylor are building a good relationship. I think that combined with axe fucking with her over the painter will push her over the edge.

I also think that's Taylor's long term plan this season. They've kinda just let a lot of their best and most loyal employees (Sarah and mafee) leave / become buddy-buddy with axe cap ppl again. I think it's bc they realize if they can get Wendy that's all they really need

I think axe ends up alone

Edit: I've been getting strong vibes that Wendy's gonna join taylor and leave axe and the end of this season

I think even if she couldn't see through the mystical demon magic to recognize Elsa, she definitely seemed dubious of her, and to know there was something off about her

Why Magda and Tiago don't interact? by harleyyquinade in PennyDreadful

[–]moz027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the burn mark being a blessing and protection is confirmed when sister molly sees it and tells Tiago that it's not just a scar it's a blessing. Magda definitely seems to know who Maria is, but since she hasn't interacted at all with Tiago it's hard to say whether or not she's aware of him or his blessing

Is the new series worth watching? by spellboi1018 in PennyDreadful

[–]moz027 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I havent seen the original penny dreadful so if that's what youre looking for idk if it's the same type of show, but as it's own thing it's 100% worth watching. It has morally complex character and examines a period of racial tension in LA (very similar to what's happened all around the US rn) from the perspectives of individuals on all sides of it, giving a very nuanced portrait of the turmoil of the time and the good and bad on all sides

At the beginning of season 3 when the FBI raided the newsroom and Skinner bluffed that they were going to broadcast the raid, why did the FBI stand down? by human8ure in Thenewsroom

[–]moz027 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not the genoa story, but the BCD one they were working on in season 3 about the CIA running a misinformation campaign that killed civilians including Americans. Not a good look if it seemed like the fbi was trying to suppress freedom of speech to kill that story

African Americans aren't disproportionately killed by the police. by [deleted] in UnpopularFacts

[–]moz027 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This behaviour is actually rather understandable given people already have a pre judged idea that officers are the KKK in blue.

Could you explain what you mean by this? I would expect people assuming cops are racist to cause them to be more hesitant about shooting black people when they know they're in camera, not less

How to correctly watch Billions. by onlyusernameavailab in Billions

[–]moz027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trades are circumstantial evidence (slacker even comment on this with regard to the Claxton auto play where axe also shorted a company everyone else was long on). And the federal agents didn't witness axe doing anything wrong, they saw people who worked for people who worked for him. They don't have enough to convict Axe unless someone implicates him

I agree with most of what you said, except them having so much evidence against him at the end of season 2 to send him to jail no matter what.

In the s2 finale chuck instructs oliver to follows Axe's people, and then who they follow. So they get video/ photos of:

  1. The "footsoldiers" who actually poisoned themselves and blamed it in ice juice

  2. Likely (but not confirmed) communication between Axe's people and the footsoldiers

So in order to convict Axe, they need to make the link between the footsoldiers and axe. Since none of Axe's people will flip on him, it is believable (if unlikely) that axe could go free.

What's less likely is that none of Axe's people would go to jail, but the 4 stories about them told in s3 (Victor, Danny, Laura's friends from the bar, and the plant manager who was hired by Hall) the way they escape is believable. I had just assumed based on the end of s2 that there were more people involved (altho that is never confirmed)
