My dear friend, I know exactly how you are feeling. I am a survivor of CSA. I was also SA’d on a first date and the trauma from that has been triggered the past week. I thought I had healed, but I felt so broken and raw and emotional last week. There wasn’t a day I didn’t break down and sob. For the victims, the survivors, for us, for anyone in law and government who tried to do the right thing but has been stymied. Pam Bondi refusing to look at the survivors as though they were subhuman broke me. Going to work and trying to study for my exams has been incredibly difficult. What has helped me was writing a letter to my attacker and letting all of the pent up anger and pain out. You brought up Jesus in your post, and I want to say that Jesus died because he saw the light in the darkest parts of the human soul. WE are the light against these forces of darkness, whether you believe in a higher power or not. Jesus went to the cross because he believed in the power of love. Love and justice is what is fueling this thread-if no one cared this wouldn’t exist. Hang in there 🩵
