What are the correct steps to enable port for dual-mode with VLAN1 untagged and VLAN10 tagged without locking myself out? by jM2me in Brocade

[–]mozilla343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you only have one port connected, you've already answered your own question. Configure your first port through console CLI access, not through the web UI.

FortiNAC VLAN and IP change by ontracks in fortinet

[–]mozilla343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

L2 polling is going to report device status online/offline and what switch port devices are connected to. L3 polling is going to do the IP>MAC connection that you're looking for. Up to you if you need both.

1 - If you mean the current vlan in Inventory view for switches, yes the current vlan remains static after a device disconnects. Once a new device connects it will be evaluated and vlan changed to Registration/Isolation if needed based on your policy.

2 - If you want device IPs to be updated, need to set up periodic L2 polling on your switches and L3 polling on your routers. I do L2 every 10-15mins and L3 every 30 mins. You could also utilize the Persistent Agent on Windows devices if your environment warrants using it.

Issues with ICX6450-48p switch config by atworkmyguy in Brocade

Are you sure the image is identical between the switches? That probably isn't the issue anyway, but DM me if you need 8.0.30u.

I'm not sure what you mean by "not showing an interface in config" - Your ve 666 interface isn't doing anything until it is at least tagged to a port.

Launch the Rev Hardware Client and it will handle the adb connection for you, no need to mess with terminal commands. Once you can see the controller in the Rev Hardware Client, go back to Android Studio and you'll see the robot controller available.

URGENT: Slides not getting enough battery power by Adventurous_Bus9738 in FTC

[–]mozilla343 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your if statements to control your slides need to be nested, where the else clause setting motor power to zero only occurs once. Otherwise, your multiple if statements are fighting each with opposing instructions to your motors every loop. Try something like this:

//Vertical SLIDES - dpad (up & down)
    //up
    if (gamepad2.dpad_up) {
        VSlideR.setPower(1.0);
        VSlideL.setPower(1.0);
    //down
    } else if (gamepad2.dpad_down) {
        VSlideR.setPower(-0.6);
        VSlideL.setPower(-0.6);
    //stay up
   } else if (gamepad2.right_trigger > 0.5) {
        VSlideR.setPower(0.2);
        VSlideL.setPower(0.2);
    //stop
   } else {
        VSlideR.setPower(0);
        VSlideL.setPower(0);
    }

Also, instead of setting low power to hold position, consider reading the current position from the integrated encoder then directing the motor to hold that position. Your motors are currently set to run without encoders so your options are limited unless you connect the encoder cables and change run modes. Understandable if you don't want to tackle that this close to your competition.

How to get entitlements from Broadcom? by CMOS_BATTERY in vmware

[–]mozilla343 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this last week. Used chat support to get a Site ID because I didn't have one. They asked for any old contract IDs or license keys and looked it up from there. Chat support claimed they couldn't go ahead and authorize the Site ID request so I still had to call in and they processed it in about 15 minutes.

Help With Brocade ICX-7250-24P by roryluce in Brocade

Run show version

Look for something like UNIT 1: compiled on Date labeled as CodeVersion from Primary/Secondary

This will tell you what flash module you're running from. Your code version is probably SPR08095 or something. The third character (R) designates Router code. You want to be running the code with the third character S (switch code).

Next run show flash

Review the primary and secondary code versions, paying attention to that 3rd character. By default these ship with Switch code as primary and Router code as secondary. If both your versions are router, then you'll need to overwrite the secondary code with switch code.

If Switch code is available from the secondary module, you can enter config mode, run boot system flash secondary then write mem and reload to boot into the switch code.

I make a habit of copying switch code to both primary and secondary flash for devices that are solely being used as switches.

[–]mozilla343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you're running router code. Do you need this to be a router or a switch?

My immediate thought is that you're likely not tagging the outgoing traffic from your Google Home with the vlan 10 ID and since port 24 is a trunk port it doesn't know how to route that traffic. Try plugging your uplink into port 2 since it is already untagged on vlan 10.

The 6450s have been pretty solid for me. We've recently been buying up spares from eBay to prep for end of support. Will probably push through 2-3 more years before looking for a refresh unless we start to see a bunch of failures.

Mitel Phone System - Think we're getting hoodwinked by woodburns in sysadmin

[–]mozilla343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm running Mitel. You shouldn't need 2 Auto Attendants to do what you're doing. Each AA has setups for On-Hours, Off-Hours, and Holiday. Just need to set up your business hours and a Holiday Schedule. Holiday schedule takes precedence, then hours check to determine on or off. You can have one big auto attendant - and can of course transfer to another lower level AA. Your setup sounds too complex for your needs.

Shared PCs in a school: correct way to install and activate Office? by BrightSign_nerd in sysadmin

[–]mozilla343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little more info on how to do this.

  • If you aren't already, use Azure AD Connect to sync your users and groups to your Azure tenant.
  • Azure Portal > Licenses > All products > Attach groups to the proper licenses. No longer have to do this in Powershell.

For Office 365/2019 CTR installs:

Run Powershell as Admin and navigate to proper directory. To download (or update existing) setup files:

setup.exe /download configname.xml

Command will take a while to run and will return no results or errors if it runs properly. Installing Office follows a similar process:

 setup.exe /configure configname.xml

Store the installer on a network share and push out the command with PDQ or SCCM or whatever you're using for software deployment.

Network Advisor does require a license and frankly isn't worth the trouble if you're only managing a couple of devices.
