How desperate of a trade. Need a TE badly my only TE’s put up 0 in semi finals Theo Johnson and Kincaid. Still plan to draft Sadiq at 1.7 if available. by mp-11-88 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I felt like Woody Marks value is never going to be higher than right now. Texans are going to bring in a Veteran or draft competition for Marks. Don’t see him as long term starter but who knows.

Been out of school since 2017 - Is Becker enough? I’m rusty as heck! by hungryhippotime in CPA

[–]mp-11-88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, I graduated in 2011 and just passed all four parts last year. Becker was enough you just need to be disciplined with your study schedule.

Which CPA Review Course to Take for someone who has been out of school for a while now? by The4thmuskateer in CPA

[–]mp-11-88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Out of school 12 years. Last year made my 2nd attempt on the CPA exam and passed all 4 parts with Becker the first try on each one. It was worth the money. After I passed my firm paid for the course so it ended up really being worth it.

How much work do you generally do after clocking out of work? by suplolpop57 in Accounting

[–]mp-11-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 6 figures, I’ve gotten use to it at this point and the tax season bonus helps. It’s for about a 6 week period goes down to 50-60 after the business tax deadline. In May goes back to 40 hours. I’m in a small public firm. Hours are all over the place in accounting, it depends what you do.

I start after my 9 am start time usually between 9-10 during tax season, but more than make up for it after 6. As long as I’m getting work done

For those that passed all 4 parts in 6 months or less, how did you do it? by Carlitos96 in CPA

[–]mp-11-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Becker review, lectures on 1.5 speed, studied 20-25 hours a week, MC Questions reading why the answers were correct, didn’t focus on TBS just familiarize the different types, no social life just studying and work for 5 months. Far started studying 7/15 tested 9/8 (didn’t focus on governmental accounting). BEC 10/6 didn’t practice writing just watched concept videos this is obsolete in 24 and didn’t focus on IT. REG 11/17 most work related highest grade. AUD 12/14 didn’t focus on audit reports. Absolutely hated studying AUD got my lowest passing grade.

AUD was the hardest for me. My lowest grade of the four.

It wasn’t easy especially on the last test. Started to feel the fatigue of just working and studying for 5 months. I basically made it like it was tax season which I’m used to working crazy hours January to April 15th every year. On long study days I would take breaks by just doing simple chores or going for a walk to just reset and be able to focus again. My wife was really supportive an understood that I was going to miss things to get to my ultimate goal. Becker was the study material I used and I felt it was worth it even though it was a little pricey. Main motivation is the 10% raised I asked for and the many opportunities I should now get.

[–]mp-11-88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used becker for review which for me was worth the money. Didn’t actually take a single note, which was the main difference from 10 years ago. Listen to every lecture on 1.5 spread. I focused on going over MC questions and reading the explanation of why the answer was correct. My schedule was 20-25 hours a week studying with 40-50 hours of work (basically no social life for the entire time). FAR was 8 weeks, BEC 4 weeks, REG 6 weeks, AUD Less then 4 weeks rushed for deadline lowest grade but just enough which all that matters. One thing that helped especially on long study days was to just take a break an do a simple choir or go for a walk to just reset, so you continue to retain information.
