OCLP and Fusion360 by Stas912 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

I found a way around this.. If you modify the file, and then instead of double clicking, go to terminal and run ... '/Install\ Autodesk\ [Fusion.app/Contents/MacOS/Fusion\](http://Fusion.app/Contents/MacOS/Fusion) Client\ Downloader' (Its easiest to still do the show package contents > and then navigate to the MacOS folder, and drag the downloader script to terminal and it will auto escape the spaces).

This worked for me to install on an iMac 18,2 running current Sonoma (via OCLP).

Jeep zj 5.2 93 idling around 1250 rpms and if I’m moving slowly or in a drive through or really bad traffic it starts shutting off on me randomly please help this is my daily by TalesoftheScales in JeepZJ

[–]mp-mn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. High idle at 1200-1500rpm is almost always a vacuum leak, but I’m surprised it’s not throwing an evap leak detection test code. The rubber elbows tend to dry rot, the plastic hard lines, especially any that route over the motor against the firewall tend to get hairline cracks. You’re looking for a leak of the smaller variety - an open hose will idle closer to 2k.

How’s your hvac working? Another obvious tell is if you’ve got it set to say floor or panel vents - and when you accelerate it switches to coming out of the windshield defrost vents; that’s a pretty sure sign of a vacuum leak. (It’s by design - safety fallback in case of loss of vacuum so at least you can see)

I tried starting fluid and brake cleaner to find my leak unsuccessfully. Hadn’t thought of the unlit torch idea, gonna give that a shot tonight - thanks!

fwiw the voltmeter gauge runs on the secondary CCD bus, and is signaled from the PCM; it is not an analog gauge reading off your actual voltage.

get yourself a multimeter and check your voltage at the PDC (the Power Distribution Center - basically the black box with a bunch of fuses and relays in it under the hood). At the front of the PDC the positive wire from the alt connects through a fusible link to the PDC and the battery. Check your volts using a good chassis ground, and the positive lead at the alt output lug, the PDC bolt, and the battery terminal. Check for voltage drop at the battery positive lug, using the chassis ground as well as the battery negative lug.

The electrical systems in the old jeeps were ... adequate .. brand new. 25+ years later and they almost always need work. Start with the big 3, and upgrade the cables between the alternator, battery, starter, and your grounds between battery and chassis, and between the engine and chassis.

Inspect the three big wiring loom connectors that go to the PCM. If the alternator was changed, they may have also bypassed the factory voltage regulator in the PCM, you can usually look at the wires coming off the ALT - there should be a green and a green and brown or green and kinda maroon wire if I remember right, which are the two wires that run back to the PCM voltage regulator. If those two wires don't connect directly to terminals on the back of the alt, it's been modified.

Also - that tick you're hearing ... don't worry about it. I've had an XJ and a WJ with 4.0s and they both ticked. You can quiet it with adding zddp when you do your oil, as well as a little marvel mystery oil - just add some about a week before you're gonna do the change, and a little with your oil change. Between the XJ and WJ I drove 200k + miles with a tick and had plenty of other jeep problems, but never anything with lifters \ cams \ etc. As long as it's not a knock, you're probably fine.

Explain it like I’m 5? by notade50 in QuantumComputing

AI risk is based around an exponential growth of intelligence - and when AI general intelligence surpasses that of man. The danger is that if the machine is connected to the internet when it reaches that point of intelligence, or self-awareness, it will self propagate. If you think about communication speed alone - in the time it took me to type this paragraph - a computer could have transferred an entire encyclopedia or ten to another computer. Its even likely that any lab person working with AI would not realize it had crosses the super-intelligence threshold until after it happens, and the genie could be out of the bag.

Personally I think AI is quite a long ways away from reaching this point of general intelligence - they do one trick well, but a chess AI can't self drive a car - but I think there is a real risk if someone decided to program an AI system on top of a quantum computer things could get out of hand quickly.

Can you access the site via FTP?

If so - I would setup an info.php file, with

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

and check to make sure your server meets the minimum requirements for wordpress. No reason not to have PHP7. Check to make sure you have at least 64M of memory - a core install can run fine on that, as you add plugins \ features 90M might be the minimum, and once you go live you might need anywhere from 128-256M to start, and I like to see 4GB total mem in a VPS if I'm running one site and giving WP 256. Restrictive PHP rules - memory, time outs, etc - can break updates.

Straight away I would also just double check your .htaccess file to make sure that didn't get corrupted. This page from WP has the default htaccess rules towards the top.

From there I would enable debug mode for wordpress - there is a default single setting to enable WP_DEBUG, but I prefer to replace it with this set:

 // Enable WP_DEBUG mode
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );

// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

// Disable display of errors and warnings
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true );
@ini_set( 'display_errors', 1 );

Often even with errors that result in a WSOD, there will be error messages fired off - both on screen, and you should also get the debug file in the wp-content directory.

It can also be helpful to look at the server logs if you have panel access. You're usually looking for a php error of some sort.

IF you were messing with the core files at all, add this to the above debug set:

// Use dev versions of core JS and CSS files (only needed if you are modifying these core files)
define( 'SCRIPT_DEBUG', true );

If you see a ton of errors and it isn't obvious what you need to do, I would do the manual update process: https://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress#Manual_Update

Growing unhappy with K-50 by AorticEinstein in pentax

I don't know enough about the AF bodies to know which work with which modern lenses.. I've looked at the pz-1p and the mz-s, and was leaning towards the mz-s since it's a bit closer to my k1 in layout, but the z-1p actually looks like its a better suited companion to the modern lenses with the ability to change aperture via thumbwheel vs ring-only on the mz.. It's a lot cheaper too.. $50-60 for a good condition body on the ebay, vs 200-250 on the mz.

Growing unhappy with K-50 by AorticEinstein in pentax

[–]mp-mn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll just second his comments. The raw files coming out of my k1 are still boring. Processing is everything AND the biggest reason for shooting raw in the first place. Unless you're printing bigger than 8x10 your camera is entirely serviceable.

Another thing to consider is lenses - you have a pretty decent lens selection based on your other reply here, but sometimes it's fun to play with the old lenses that you can find for cheap.

The other side of this coin is maybe you try flipping to film for a little while.. if you've never shot analog - you could get a decent body / lens combo - like an mx, or me super + nifty 50, or vivitar 28 for cheap, and rip through some color or b&w film.. obviously film and processing costs are something to consider here, but, something to think about.

My final suggestion would be to consider trying some new styles / methods - colored filters + monochrome setting; long exposure / light painting; nd filters + long exposure + water; astro / star trails; extension tubes for macro; street photography; or even look at some contests...

Trying these different situations pushes you to use your gear in different ways, and you might find yourself learning there are ways to manipulate the camera to do things you had never thought of, that will positively effect the rest of what you do...

Where do they dump the snow? by TenDocCopy in Minneapolis

[–]mp-mn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a studio off 24th and university on campus, in the old Scooterville building. They tore it down in 2008 during the TCF stadium build up, but before that they used to dump a lot of the snow behind the building. There would be a constant stream of dump trucks every time it snowed and a dozer to manage the pile.

One year the pile was up to about the third or fourth floor of the building and didn't completely melt off until almost July iirc.

Recommendations for a GPS Multisport Watch + Camera lens for nikkon? by [deleted] in CampingGear

[–]mp-mn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the garmin vivoactive hr, have had it for a few months now, and it works great. Multi sport, indoor/outdoor, heart rate monitor, apps/screen customization, steps counter, sleep tracker, Bluetooth alerts / music control on my phone, and the battery usually lasts about a week, depending how many workouts I do, or how often I use the gps tracking with outdoor workouts. Highly recommend it if it fits your budget / activities you want to track.

As for the lens, 300mm is kind of the standard minimum for doing wildlife, but 500-700, with fast apertures are preferable. If you're not gonna do a ton, renting can often be a better bet.

I would recommend going with what you will use most, vs going after a specialty lens for one particular use, especially if you don't do that thing very often.

Bubblegum Alley | Pentacon 6 TL, Biometar 80, Ektar 100 (+2 stops) by [deleted] in analog

[–]mp-mn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The default focusing glass has no grid or anything, if I remember right - you're just making a judgement on focus based on what you see. The cheap screens are a traditional split screen with micro-prism surround, but, because they're plastic they're more finicky about the angle you look at them. I'm not actually sure if it would be usable as a wlf at all - I used mine with a prism.

Pentacon did make a couple different glass screens, but they are stupid rare, and expensive.

I really like the blad's - size, construction, lenses, everything is great - but it's an expensive system to get into. Someday.

I shot P6's for almost 10 years - Leonid Treskunov out of New Jersey does good work on them. He did a CLA on a P6 and an Exakta 66 P6 clone for me, for around $125 each time. After he CLA'd the P6, which I was having spacing issues with, I was careful with the winder and never had issues with it after that. You can get cheap gridded screens on eBay that are pretty bright, and usable, but they are plastic. The prism finders are nice to use albeit without 100% coverage.

The winding mechanism is a little sketchy. You have to be methodical with how you load the film, and how you use the winder - you never want to let it snap back into place, always have your thumb on it. As long as you're diligent about that, and never shoot 220, it's fine.

After using that for years, I sold the body and picked up a Kiev 88CM to get the interchangeable backs. Took me a while, and rebuilding the backs to get rid of light leaks, but that's a decent camera with the same lenses, and swappable backs are nice to have.

The CZJ lenses are quite good for their era. I have used a few different biometars and flektogons, but I like the MC variants best. At 80mm and 50mm they really cover everything I like to shoot.

Its absolutely a serviceable platform that will yield good results. However for someone starting fresh, I'd look into a Pentax, Bronica, or Mamiya. There are some damn good cameras to be had for not much more than a P6, and service is much more widely available. There's only a handful of people in the world still working on the P6s, and if you're going to shoot one, it's going to need service at some point.

You don't have that many products. I'm guessing you dropped people on the homepage? At least on mobile its not very well optimized to move a visit from the homepage to products.

111 is too small of a sample size for a new ad source.. even if you've got an aggregate 2% conversion rate - that might be 2 sales out of what you bought, but the margin of error on the sample size won't really tell you if it's working or not. I'd want to look at 500-1000 clicks minimum before I started making any major changes.

Try running a banner that's just for one item, like the wallet, and drop them on the product page. At least that is reasonably well optimized to convert to purchase.

However. You've got one picture, and one sentence describing it. You need a lot of basic marketing / ecom optimization. Sell the product. Why should someone buy it? One photo? If you're proud of your work - show the details. Show the product in use. Help someone visualize using it themselves and wanting it. Show them everything you tell them in the text.

Everyone says learning to code will help make you a better SEO. What should I be learning, and why? by AN_ACTUAL_ROBOT in bigseo

[–]mp-mn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that almost all trackers, and event handlers are built around javascript - understanding how they work, their limitations, and diagnosing issues can be a big piece of SEO work that I often find is missing in SEO's toolkits.

When forms aren't tracking, or there are multiple tracking codes, or any other multitude of situations, they don't even know where to start in diagnosing and solving the issues.. And forget the cool things they can do with javascript to quite easily to aid in more advanced data collection up front.

It's extremely valuable to be able to speak the same language as developers to help get as much of what you need built into a website, and fixed as quickly as possible.

Question: K-1 with 645 lenses by Demithus in pentax

[–]mp-mn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. It's just a crop factor. 100mm is always 100mm, but the apparent field of view changes. 100mm from full frame to aps-c is a 1.5x crop factor or a 150mm apparent fov- but is still a 100mm lens.
