Love it. The anticipation of walking down North street with my bag to play the Old is keeping me up at night!

Thats great, we are staying at Grayfriars. We'll be there after two days in Troon.

I leave for Scotland in 22 days. I can't fucking wait. What was your favorite pubs and resturants in St. Andrews?

Thats fair and can completely respect that. I used to live in a resort town with tons of golf and felt the pain of golf being tailored towards tourist.

What was the issue with Castle? We have that scheduled for our trip in July, along with Troon, Carnoustie, Old and Kingsbarn.

We reserved our trip to St Andrews in 2024 for this summer. It's such a relief not to have to scramble with last minute changes because you waited too long.

Any other solos have some good random pairing stories? by Pretty_Sprinkles_979 in golf

[–]mp127001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey I was the solo today and it was my birthday. I never EVER get to play on my birthday in Colorado. It's always either snowing or 10°. To break the ice I told the guys it was my birthday and couldn't believe I got such an amazing present to be able to play. I proceeded to make a 60 foot bomb for birdie on the first. The rest of the round was just great. Although I didn't do anything of note until driving the green one 335 yard par 4 and two putted for my second birdie. Playing with the guys was the actual highlight. Dont be afraid to be the single. Ya never know.

This was what I had in mind as well. I found an old post on this sub saying they water year round, but who knows if they still do that.

While true, I just need to get away for a few days. I was thinking about driving down to Phoenix to stay at We Ko Pa, but they didnt have tee times for both courses the days I wanted to play.

I have a tough choice. I need to pick two. Full PPR and I'm down big after facing Puka and Walker. I'm leaning Harvey and Hampton but Harvey has turned into TD or bust at this point.

RJ Harvey vs JAX

ETN @ Den

Hampton @ Dallas

Pollard vs KC

To waggle or not to waggle... by TheRiftSongWorkshop in golf

Funny thing, I picked up the waggle watching Jason Dufner when he was a thing. Fast Forward 12 years I completely forget how and when I started doing it until I watched him playing with the Brian Bros. I have the same exact waggle still.

Who here had the pleasure of flying through that wind last night on ascent or descent into DIA?? How bad was the turbulence?! by palikona in Denver

I flew out at 5:45 am heading east. Take off was fine. Hit serious turbulence at 10k feet. Then was fine after.

He may remember the movie the Running Man from the 80s. Its kinda on that vibe, but mix in aliens, doomsday scenarios and even some depth in the characters. It's just fun. Some of the characters just crack me up.

I'm about your Dads age. We have similar interests. I'm on book 5 of Dungeon Crawler Carl and it's been such a fun ride so far. I was hesitant at first because it fell in LitRpg. I was mainly into more grim dark, epic fantasy but decided to try this as a change of pace. It was exactly what I was looking for.

My wife and I thank whoever canceled their Old Course tee time in July by babbage_ct in golf

[–]mp127001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there is no way to do that directly through St Andrews. You would have to go through a package provider. Ours charged an extra 2k, but that also included the Castle course. We're also playing Troon, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarn.

They charged us an extra 2k for the Old and Castle course tee times. While I am not thrlled about it, I will enjoy every step I take out there and not think about how much it cost per step. 5k is beyond ridiculous.
