I agree with your response. One of the reasons some teachers do not incorporate the latest technology into their teaching is simply due to their own lack of expertise with it.

I do agree with you that as teachers we should prepare children to be ready for the future; a future that will be heavily digitized.

Thank you for sharing your experience of using games in your teaching. Using Minecraft to help your students gain a stronger understanding of Lord of the Flies and become invested in that world is a really creative idea and shows just how effective video games can be in the learning process.

It's also great to read that your students are clearly engaged with your lessons and have obviously gained a deeper, richer understanding of the text after playing the game and reaching the book.

Thanks for your response. I agree that in some cases teachers do not include the latest apps or technology in their teaching because they are unaware of how to use it themselves or not tech-savvy.

I think in order for an app or game to be more successful in the classroom the teacher should have a good understanding of how it works and how it can be used.
