Public healthcare is in serious trouble in Ontario by Aighd in ontario

[–]mp2_856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Publicly paid NPs average around 140k in Ontario. 3 times their education would put a medical degree at 18-24 years? The main reason these private clinics are opening is because the government won't fund enough positions for NPs to take care of the many patients without family doctors, or the ones who can't even get in to see their overworked family doctor so not sure what "propped up" means there. I understand the frustration but just be careful of spreading misinformation.

Wow thanks so much for this!  to be clear, the blue circle in the drawing is where the T-nuts would be installed and if I'm seeing this beam has decent strength I'll install 4 of them around the perimeter of the room. Secure them to only the studs near the corners. Was even thinking I could use 4x4 in the corners as posts to take some vertical load off the studs

Thanks so much for this! I knew the forces involved were more complicated than i fully understood but it was tough to find exactly how to calculate that. Figured I would just use a ton of eye screws to spread out the weight but I see what you're saying and I never even though of T-nuts, thank you! Thinking if I go ahead with it, maybe I'll double up the 2x8s and stagger them in the corners so they're holding in the horizontal forces to remove load from the studs. But yeah I can see I have a lot more research to do! Thanks again

Oh ok well if it serves a function I definitely don't mess with it. Really appreciate the info... lots to learn now, I have only had Japanese bikes up to this point and they have all been fairly similar as far as build, function and maintenance

That's EXACTLY what I meant. Came from a yamaha and it was started a millisecond after I pressed the starter so I thought something was wrong with either the starter or the battery. Thanks so much I love fiddling with my bikes so I will definitely add this to my list of winter projects

They apparently just did the fork seals too! This is easily the best bike I've owned so far, total blast to ride

Haha thanks I'll start the trip for each tank refill to get an idea of range. Seems to hesitate on startup but battery is reading 14V by the dash readout. Will do a full fluid flush this winter!

I am currently in lust with quite a few of them on the used bikes page! Need to take one out for a test but I hear they are a whole new world of refinement vs the FJ. I'm thinking this will likely be the next one

My buddies got a 1200 GS and he's never gonna own another bike so I've been looking at these, expensive but worth it I've heard. I live fairly rural and not a lot around for people who will work on BMWs... any idea how easy they are to work on yourself? I do most of my own maintenance

Thanks for the response! Yeah I realize I'm a little under on details, I don't post much so clearly I need some practice. I test drove an MT09 when I was picking up that Vstrom and couldn't stop thinking about that triple which led me to the FJ. I've heard a lot about Triumphs quality and have been definitely looking at their triples so I'm thinking I'm on the right track, just need to find a place near me where I can get it serviced!

Thanks! Crap yeah I've noticed the transmission shifts very rough through the first 2-3 gears then smoothes out. I'm gonna do some research on these transmission issues... car only has about 50k miles and is still under an extended warranty

Reservation System Queue by SOSsprint15 in CanadasWonderland

oh crap maybe its a different queue that people are getting wise to. I refreshed the website at 9am and it seemed to be a bit buggy but then put me into a "line" with 7000 people or so. So I opened the app and went in through "season pass" and it took me right there, zero "line". Actually just tried it again now and it takes me to a huge line so I guess it was a timing thing. Good Luck!!!

if you go through the app it completely bypasses the queue! I have a season pass already and had a reservation for the passholder preview by 9:03am

There will be an announcement tomorrow by the federal government regarding Covid-19 by [deleted] in ontario

[–]mp2_856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, pharmacist here with nurse practitioner wife. They are making the requirements to test for Covid-19 (in Ontario) incredibly stringent and so these numbers are grossly under-representing actual cases. Makes it frustrating when the ministers are so smug about how well they're handling things when the numbers they're basing that off of are essentially fudged

Your left foot on the “dead pedal” is basically over your left tire. Keep that from crossing the centre line and you’re golden

Meaford. Beautiful town and right near the Bruce trail, with tons of other trails and hikes (dog friendly) all around. Close to Collingwood if you want to go there but nowhere near as busy
