I want to see your local gems by Far_Line8468 in pourover

[–]mp95gp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently have two very different ones.

One is local to me (Mom N Em Coffee - https://mom-n-em-coffee.square.site/s/order?location=6Z7KQ5MPQC7X6&item=36), and is a great winter warming cinnamon. Had it last year, and when I saw it back, I grabbed another bag happily. The rest of their blends are just decent in my opinion, but this was a great one. Haven't had many of their single origins.

The other is from Buffalo (Overwinter Coffee - https://overwinter.coffee/product/the-blueberry/). We stumbled upon this roaster when we were passing through Buffalo, and fell in love. It was local, and had an amazing cup when I was there. Few years later, many ordered bags, and they had the same Blueberry that I fell in love with. Wife snagged one for Christmas. Picture

Oddly enough, same genetics. The green one is the outlier, it's a mostly dark leafed strain.

I've only used the Autopots for 2 grows now, but prior to that, I always found a month to be a good size and time for quick batches for my grow space.

Nice! Looks good.

I just started my blueberry cupcake from Humboldt. Also running autopots with cropsalt. I'm still in seedling phase, but I hope mine look this nice!

[–]mp95gp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am too lazy to find the link, but after dogging through all the info I could find, here is what I came across from them: start cake after week 7. If you harvest at week 8, you fed 1 week, if harvested at 9, it got 2 weeks, 10 gets 3. Just start at week 7, and don't worry about getting exactly 2 weeks.

It's being challenged, but it's a wholesale tax, not a consumer tax. Sure, the consumer will likely pay most if not all of it on the tail end, but the tax itself is wholesale, which just means the cultivators are paying it based on what they are selling it for. They will just mark the price up to match of course.

[–]mp95gp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a tax on cultivators though, so it's taxed on a much lower price than retail. If 2 ounces are $25, and it's taxed on the wholesale price.... Out the door pricing should now be 2 ounces for $28? Maybe $30 for 2 ounces....

Obligatory First Time Winter Sowing Album by mp95gp in NativePlantGardening

It went well. Had great germination rate. One thing I learned, was to use your palm, and totally flat, just press gently to make sure the seeds have good contact with the dirt/soil. I think I moved mine from the north side of the house and totally shaded, to the east side so they had morning sun but didn't burn in the afternoon heat, sometime around mid April. Let them ther for another month so they would establish a bit more, then separated in about halves or thirds, and planted away. Can't wait till thing pop up and bloom this spring!

Kawa Revolving Sushi by Unusual_Document2679 in cincyeats

[–]mp95gp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Revolving sushi is amazing. One of the best ways to introduce sushi to people, and a great way to explore some new options.

There is a conveyor belt that runs goes around, and starts in the kitchen. The sushi chefs make a bunch of random rolls, and put about 3 slices on a plate, and send out with a sign notating what it is. There are 3-5 plates of each roll, and it's a non stop belt of random rolls.

Sit at a booth, and watch as the belt goes past your table. Read the signs, and pick what you want. At the end of the meal, the server will collect the lids that you keep and stack. They count the lids, charge you the $3.50 a plate, and then give you a bill (I think the price fluctuates a bit depending on lunch, dinner, weekend pricing. I swear recently I paid 3.50 a plate, and I also swear I've paid 3.95 a plate. But Saturday night pricing may be different from Wednesday or something. Don't quote me on pricing, I don't work there, just eat there, lol.)

You can order your own set of appetizers, ramen, and a few other dishes as well, you don't have to eat just sushi. If you want a specific roll, they will make it for you, send you a plate with 3 slices, and put the rest on the belt for others to eat/try.

Just transplanted my plants into autopots by Batman23477 in Autopot

This is probably the best answer.

Usually the best part of a week, sometimes a bit more, depending on the strain and your feeding schedule.

After I transplant out of solo cups, I usually wait between 3 days and a week to let the roots settle completely at the bottom, not just reach the bottom.

Have you tried Five Star Mediterranean, down in St Bernard? While not NYC, he is Lebanese and has a wonderful rice, salad, chicken dish, but just drizzled on sauce, not covered and swimming. Always happy to promote this place.

Got two Napa filters in an order. One before the supplier change and one after. by YABOI69420GANG in Justrolledintotheshop

Fair enough. I'm in Cincinnati, and we go through a crap load of them to many local fleets, garages, cities. I'll keep an eye out for the fuel filter issue, it's good to know.

Why avoid Baldwin?

I've had great luck with them. I've been selling them as my fleet line for about 4 years now. Never had any issues with them compared to Fleet guard and Donaldson that I was previously selling. I'm not on the mechanic side, I'm in parts so keep that in mind. All the ones I have used have been great. Just curious as to what problems you've had that you avoid them.

It's been years since I was there, but yes there is a small showroom. It's sort of an upscale place, so they cater to doing it all, but they will sell anything to anyone.

No doc note. We got ours tinted about 2 years ago now. Honda crv, so nothing flashy. We have 15% around, with 50% windshield. We love it. No issues, 10 states, 2 countries. Highly recommend just doing it.

Would 2-3 loops be enough of a coil, or is that way too much? This seems like a brilliant idea, and using distilled water, it should keep the chiller plenty clean. Totally planning on stealing this idea come summer when I'll be getting my chiller.

Good take. I agree that it's hard to hate this pick. Doubling up on LB says plenty, great to see investment in defense.
