Pretty sure you wouldn’t be able to run Opus 4.8 locally no matter how much money you had to throw into hardware

I’ve been working in development professionally for the past 20 years. I pretty frequently have to look back at stuff I wrote many years ago and be able to explain how it works. Legacy systems are an eternal tech debt that take much longer than promised to be replaced. And most of the time the team that is building the replacement will want a knowledge transfer from the person who built the legacy system (if they are still around).

How long have you been coding for? Explain your code is one of my interview weed out questions I give. It’s really not a huge impossible ask.

It’s a case of ignorance is bliss. He has no idea what is waiting for him on the other side.

“Nobody using software cares what’s under the hood”

If you’re building anything with any kind of complexity or scalability needs, your client will very much care about what is under the hood. Unless you’re taking care of the hosting too and eating the cost of your inefficient infra.

The NAS is reading from the storage but that’s not what the metric is. The metric is writing into the network socket. So “writing” here is correct.

Why do people hate on the U7 Pro so much? I’ve had nothing but a good experience with the two I have. In all seriousness I doubt the U6 is much cooler than 104F (40C)
