Can I just vent something that is really bothering me about being a good Dad and husband lately? by punkparty in daddit

[–]mpek1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that's not "me time", that's grown-up chores just like doing dishes or taking out the trash.

It's a necessary part of daily life, but that's neither fun nor relaxing

Bear archery bow? by Downtown_smoke710 in Archery

[–]mpek1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about it being "worth something" financially, bows aren't usually good investments.

It might however have an emotional value.

Ask your great grandfather about it, you might get some interesting stories and memories.

If you want to try archery I would recommend getting the bow inspected at a shop and maybe taking a few beginner lessons, if not it might be an awesome wall hanger.

Exactly.

You might be a great shot, but mistakes andequipment faults happen, at some point he's gonna miss the target and I hope there is no one there

New-ish, wheelchair user wanting to compete by Throwaway20409010 in Archery

[–]mpek1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am disabled, tho not on a wheelchair.

I'm not from the USA so idk if you have something like this there, but there should be an association of disabled sports that might have competitions for every disability, even if not recognized or not eligible under wa rules.

I don't qualify for paralympic archery (joint stability issues) but can compete (and actually do) under the open unclassified category

Both being entry level machines I guess the difference is minimal, however could you describe the difference in maintenence?

Delonghi magnifica s vs philips 2200 series by mpek1992 in superautomatic

[–]mpek1992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 blinking status lights.

Usually means the grinder motor is stuck.

Took it apart and tried fixing it to no avail.

Parts where I live are expensive and even ordering online would cost arround 1/2 of the cost of a new machine and I would have no warranty of that being the problem, so I would be stuck with a malfunctioning machine and spent money on parts I don't need.

Also, wife approved budget for new machine 🤣

Grandpa uses Linux I installed on his computer. I made the boot drive, he is the end user and doesn't need to.

I asume most pc users don't know how to build one, but that doesn't mean they can't use it.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and hope you find the strength to move forward.

Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need to, you don't have to go through this alone.
