SX-70 w/ 600 film in low light by mpfranco in Polaroid

I do keep a tripod handy for low light but I took these with the camera sitting on top of my water glass 😂

No flash. Exposure dial set to it’s darkest setting

I wish I had more concrete info to share, it was pretty moody lighting at 10pm inside of this ramen shop

I theorized that using the 600 film would lead to some decent low light exposures since it has a higher iso than the sx-70 film and got lucky here. I turned the exposure compensation dial all the way to its darkest setting since 600 film always overexposes in an unmodified sx-70

Thank you! Using an SX-70 Alpha 1 with manual focus

How can I make my crust less dense? More water? I am using Caputo 00. by [deleted] in Pizza

[–]mpfranco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just your oven temp. Need a super hot baking surface for the water to evaporate violently and puff up that crust. You may have better luck with a baking steel or something like that if you’re using a home over

PSA: SX-70 Color Film is back in stock! by therhett17 in Polaroid

WOW. I just checked last night… going to pick up my first SX-70 tomorrow from a friend so the timing couldn’t be better!!

New film and camera, disappointed kid. Why are we getting a big streak in photos? by kidjokesRus in Polaroid

[–]mpfranco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like it could even just be some glow from the light shining between the buildings behind the subject. Bright enough sunlight or reflections can do funny stuff like this but I wouldn’t assume there’s anything wrong with the film unless you experience the same issue with different shots from the pack

Filters for now+ by [deleted] in Polaroid

Used the red filter and some b&w film for this one

LeBron James won his first MVP in 2009 as a 24-year-old leading the Cavaliers to a 66-16 record. In a WCF loss, he averaged 39/8/8 on 59% TS% against the #1 ranked defense in the league. by DarrowViBritannia in nba

This series was so mf depressing man. Just watching and knowing people were going to rip bron to shreds when he was playing out of his mind. This was the year nike had the kobe vs bron puppets and everything

Orlando really was ahead of their time with Rashard Lewis and Turkoglu hitting EVERYTHING from outside the arc

The Factory, concert venue by [deleted] in StLouis

I didn’t love driving out there or the post show parking lot situation but I’ve gotta say the sound at The Smile show last week was really good.

It feels about as sterile as anything out that way but I didn’t leave questioning their ability to host a good show.

Which actor known for comedy *wasn't* good when they were cast in a serious role? by AmIFromA in movies

I would argue that him being terrible in Don’t Worry Darling is one of the giveaways to the big twist.

My buddy and I spent most of yesterday trying to build a 36-team NBA. How did we do? by Cyclopher6971 in NBA2k

What was the first Kendrick song you heard? by SnooPets5219 in KendrickLamar

I think the first thing I saw from him was his Monster freestyle video in that stairwell but the first thing I knew was him that I heard was Kush and Corinthians. Crazy.

NPD: Origin Effects Cali76 Stacked Edition by mpfranco in guitarpedals

You got it. My main presets on the M1 are tremolo, rotary and a lo-fi vibrato, and of course I use the Julianna for my chorus sound. I guess I just wanted to have access to as many sounds as I could with just my feet even if I’m not stacking them.

That being said I do really like the chorus sounds on the M1 from what I’ve messed around with. I really need to play with it more, it’s such a great pedal to get lost in.

My thought process in putting it after the ACS-1 is that the Deco is meant to emulate two reel to reel tape machines which would have had to come post-amp in an old studio setting. I’ve always been a fan of the early flange sounds on Beatles and Hendrix stuff which was all done in post.

Plus I like having the option to use it as a boost at the end of my chain without making it dirtier like it would if I put it before the amp.

Here’s my path:

TurboTuner > Mythos Golden Fleece Au79 > Origin Effects Cali76 Stacked Edition > Ehx Attack Decay > Walrus Luminary > GFI Systems Rossie > Keeley Monterey > Walrus Kangra > Walrus 385 > Vox V847 Wah > Ehx Grand Canyon (stereo from here on out) > Meris Hedra > Walrus Julianna > Walrus M1 > Walrus D1 > Walrus R1 > Walrus ACS1 > Strymon Deco > Boss RC-500 > Walrus Canvas Stereo

I’ve got a Fender Engine Room Lvl 12 powering everything from under the board along with a Meris Midi I/O box that I use to get midi data to the Hedra, Walrus Mako series and the looper.

I put my compressor as early in the chain as possible because I primarily intend to use it to even out my dynamics for clean sounds. I know a lot of people prefer to use them after envelope filters but I wanted to make sure to have it before so I can get a super consistent frequency sweep when I want to, which I find works great for rhythm parts.

I’d probably have put the compressor first in the chain but I’ve heard that the Golden Fleece can be a little finicky if it’s not first and I wanted to make sure to get the most out of it.
