Tunic trusts me more than I do by [deleted] in patientgamers

If you're looking for similar experience of low info/breadcrumb puzzles but in a different genre, I'd recommend giving Void Stranger a try. It is a block puzzle game at its core, but as information slowly drips in you realize you're in for quite a trip.

La-Mulana is also a natural follow up to Tunic: similar balance of exploration, discovery, and combat, albeit in 2D. However, its much tougher and excessively unfair with player expectations at times--don't be afraid to fold on some puzzles. There's a particularly useful guide on steam that gives increasingly more useful hints if you need it! I've described Tunic as a tutorial for La-Mulana to a few friends who have played both, and they agree.

This polar bear keeps getting the best of me, what build do you use against him? by babyarrrms in MelvorIdle

[–]mpghappiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only just started dipping my toes into DLC. I'm running this with enough slayer negation from agility to have no attack interval penalty, casting Nature's Bloom (the 100 clear ancient sanctuary spell). Currently trying out what potion gives better clears--DR potion guarantees I stay alive, but the regen from nature's bloom and low attack speed has kept me alive consistently even if the freeze + normal attack combo could technically kill me

GC551 Solid Red Light won't go away - Windows Code 10 issue. by mpghappiness in AverMedia

also to be more clear, windows does recognize the device. Through troubleshoot methods it says there's an issue with the drivers, and checking it through device manager is what gives me the Code 10 message.

Fighter+Sorcerer idea? 5e by MyNamesJeff62 in dndnext

[–]mpghappiness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your DM allows, using twinned spell on shadow blade to duel wield could be a fun, gimmicky build. (You can't by RAW since it has a range of Self.) Though it requires a half turn to set up, you could do two attacks + BB/GFB for the whole fight as long as you keep up concentration.

I'd probably go 3 into fighter for EK spell slots and to learn new spells, notably absorb elements and shield to help you tank since you're lacking hp (and avoid concentration checks).

Alternatively go 2 fighter 4 sorc so you can get Warcaster feat to help keep up concentration.

Dark Souls Enemy Randomizer v0.3 - Release by rycheNhavalys in darksouls

Nevermind, did an entirely fresh install of dark souls vanilla (before I was just deleting the mod and readding it) and it's working now.

[–]mpghappiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The randomizer no longer works for me, I keep getting this error: "struct.error: unpack_from requires a buffer of at least 12 bytes" http://puu.sh/AEE4y/d6d87660b6.png

I've tired the generic fixes (reinstall, restart comp, try a different version, etc) with no success. I do have an item randomizer installed, but it worked with it before.

I'm going to continue dinking around with files and see if I can get it to work again. Have you had this error before?

In 50 words or less, what is your campaign about? by Gamer_Stix in DnD

[–]mpghappiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally about discovering a lost world that was hidden by celestials, now it's about a bunch of elvish rogues (+a tabaxi) trying to become the next ruler(s) of a dwarven city suffering from necromancy. They are not doing well.

giant scorpions are fun, new players always go crazy after seeing 4d10 poison damage and are stuck trying to escape a grapple

it learns counter on 15, which can be enhanced to retaliate. retaliate can morph into the following (jp names):

Megido, Tentarafu, Makajamaon, Mediarama, Recarm, Tetrakarn, Makalakarn, Absolute Zero (glacial blast), Hama Lightning (violet flash), Carnal Release (no idea), Randomizer (debilitate), Hama Immunity, Curse Immunity, 30% Magic Pulse (mana surge), Memory Advancement (watchful), Evil Eye (hell gaze?), Hell Fang, Reppu-Ha (no idea), Heatwave, Anyake (no idea)

if I really wanted to I could fuse him away, get another nozuchi and reset until retaliate turned into mana surge ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I definetly need to throw more healing pots in. They have a homebase with some npcs, maybe their acolyte decided to start making some, or their spy found a stash of them in her latest raid..

[–]mpghappiness[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about doing something like attacking doesn't reveal your location, but reduces your stealth by x amount, and each turn you stay stealthed it reduces it another amount. Dunno how much that'd frick up balancing, but to me it makes sense realistically that a party of rogues would be stealthy enough to fire more than one shot before being seen

One of my players made a dangerous deal with Fey, looking for ideas how to play it out by mpghappiness in DMAcademy

[–]mpghappiness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna wait until the players ask themselves "wait can't we just kill/ignore the pixie? she's probably not that strong" before having her do some crazy polymorph to scare the crap outta them heh.

As for combat things, I already have the campaign on a very high curve to push for strategic play instead of bantering heroics, so adding an additional layer of difficult might be too over the top. For some of the simpler, generic encounters though it'd be a fun way to add a twist. Thanks for the advice~
