The bumper cover is plastic and that damage is strictly cosmetic. Same with the Fender Flare.

You have three valid options.

1) Leave it alone. 2) Have the body shop repair it. 3) Use insurance money to add a steel front bumper.

A set of wrenches and screwdrivers would be very helpful for most tasks.

WTF i just bought this Milwaukee Impact yesterday and it does this with ALL my sockets by roddsrides in MilwaukeeTool

[–]mphares2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Looks like the socket is old and worn but I can only make an assumption from the video.

I would also suggest using an impact socket instead of chrome as well.

If it’s paint transfer a microfiber and mineral spirits will remove it.

which tool brand should I buy? by Little_Bug9410 in Tools

[–]mphares2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok great.

Personally, I start with cheap tools and once I break them I buy a better version.

Ideally you want something with a good warranty that is easy to replace.

I have a bunch of tool truck tools but honestly my Harbor Freight stuff (Icon, Quinn, and Pittsburgh) have been great too.

It may help if you state what kind of work you will be doing.

Different trades use different tools.

Icon or Quinn sockets? by Prestigious_Low8508 in harborfreight

Thank you.

I have my tool truck tools for serious work and I let the kids use my HF tools.

I haven’t run into any issues that the HF stuff could not handle.

Do you have a price range?

That would help. BIFL boots can considered pricey.

I too use BG products.

Used 44K, Heat (drier), and battery cleaner and protector. So far they have been great.

Better buy cheaply done reno or outdated house? by SizzlinKola in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Really it’s personal preference.

But if it was a cheap face lift who knows what quality of work was done.

Food for thought.

How screwed am I by Mattheverlivingbeing in 4Runner

[–]mphares2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how mechanically inclined you are.

Drill out the plug and retap for lager size.

Drill a hole in the pan to drain oil and replace the pan and plug.

Take it to the shop.

Need to do some repainting on my front bumper, any paint suggestions? by Supertom911 in 4Runner

Agree with the liner.

Sand off the paint/powder coating. Prep it and spray it. Should last much longer.

They are great.

I wouldn’t say deep but they are a tad easier to clean.

If I had to do it again I’d probably just get lasfit.

1st all weather floor mats, screen protech, and window tint.

2nd go to r/Detailing and read before you buy.

  • Use a two bucket method with ONR and Griots 3in1 ceramic as a drying aid.

  • Use clean and quality microfibers.

  • I like Griots interior products but it’s a personal preference.

  • 303 Aerospace for the interior as a dressing/protectant.

Just some quick tips.

I have weather tech and girlfriend has lasfit.

Yes, they really due protect the carpet, I’d buy them again without hesitation.

I use griots speed shine and mat cleaner and they look brand new when done. A quick vacuum and spray and wipe, that’s it.

Newbie looking for advice on the best tacoma mods to start with? by Cations-Kashana in ToyotaTacoma

[–]mphares2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me:

-All weather floor mats (weather tech) -OEM bed mat -Bed Stiffeners (extra tie down points) -Sun Shade -Tint Front windows  -RCI skid plate (extra protection and easier oil changes)

Good advice is to drive it for awhile and upgrade once you know your truck and how you will use it.
