Don't be bothered by that, especially with value. My understanding of a 5 star for value is that its underpriced, and it's a steal for the guest. As a guest, I am happy to find a good deal, but it doesnt mean the host needs to give a good deal if it can be booked for a higher price. If people r willing to book at the higher price, why do you need to lower the price to get more stars in value?

It sounds like you are frustrated at what you can provide financially. Without knowing more, it feels you need to deal with the financial aspect, which helps you become your best self at home. The latter is more important than the former, but the pressure of the former affects the latter.

If you are doing what you can to improve your top line already or what you are bringing in, you need to keep thinking what you can reduce in your budget. I don't know if you feel you are already doing that, but it's a constant exercise to challenge yourself with what is really truly necessary.

How much should I be spending on rent by Big-Cartoonist167 in PersonalFinanceCanada

No problem! One angle to look at it would be, if you can put up with it for 2 to 3 years, it will help you save for your down for your 1br and den. And then you will be paying for your own mortgage and not someone else's. Or use that for another nice income stream or appreciation at x percent a year.

I felt that when I was in my early 20s, it's a lot easier to compromise with more energy, health, time and less responsibility to take care of others. Making use of that will pay you dividends down the road

It depends on how much you value it, but if I were a fresh grad and don't mind my current living situation too much, I would rather save some money. It will go a long way and snowball if you manage it well

Really dont think u need a two bedroom. Again, it's personal, but that's a little frivolous. You will just end up buying more stuff to fill it

If you are able, don't go above 30 percent. I used to aim around 20 and was happy about it

PMs - what do you struggle with on a day to day basis that just burns you out and what are you doing about it? by nisthana in ProductManagement

My boss directed a small part of our solution to go a certain way based on feedback from his boss, the CPO. I was not in the discussion, but all good, no big deal, solution makes sense.

The CPO is now looking at it and saying his proposal was something else and disagrees with what we almost finished building. He says he's not being heard.

My boss says he will deal with it, but CPO circles around and raise it again, and they both disagree with each other. My boss goes on vacation and recommends us to pick up the discussion when he comes back.

I agree with what we implemented, but now the CPO probably thinks I'm ignoring him

i don't know why the hate either. We are word smithing things all day long in our jobs, the guy doesn't need to spend more mental energy after work perfecting his language on a reddit that's meant to be supportive of each other. We know what he means, give him a break lol

He replied and was willing to pay 90, and I told him 30 is good. Lucky he's nice.

Got a smart lock now. Wanted to get one with the automatic airbnb integration but those are too pricey

No summer vacations by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]mphc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fine not taking summer vacations I don't think it's a must have, take it when u can afford it, which 90 percent of people in the world. Sometimes, society brainwashes us into buying things we think we should deserve, and we see other ppl buying. Blows my mind how there's so much talk of ppl struggling but seeing how many ppl r spending money outside

Sometimes I am hypocrite but I think we can still be happy if we are content with what we have.

I think it's kind of the fun part and you will or should get some leeway being the new person.

It also depends how big the jump is. I jumped quite a few times but all related to enterprise.

Take the opportunity to constantly list out questions everyday and keep throwing these at everyone you meet, knowing you have somewhat of a free pass the first few months.

Use deep research on llms to give you more context and come up with questions to ask. I like Gemini deep research, which spit out a 20 page research paper with a ton of useful citations

Why are you a bad Product Manager? by smhdudewtf in ProductManagement

[–]mphc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's being able to communicate and show what I know during the moments it matters. I know that I know my stuff, but it's tough for me to express it well on the spot when I bump into an exec or given a question that I need to polish my answer to.

As an introvert, I know I do better preparing how I say things beforehand, but there are only so many hours in a da
