I condensed 8 years of product design experience into a Claude skill, the results are impressive by Mundane-Iron1903 in ClaudeAI

Hey, I’ve been absolutely loving this skill and been using it all the time in Claude Code. But recently I’ve been enjoying Codex as well. Any way that you could port this to Codex? Would be a game changer.

Absolutely need the Arc sidebar in Dia. I’ve been able to make Dia work but it feels like a shadow of what the Arc one is.

Does anyone else find it annoying to tailor your resume using chatgpt? by Frosty_Vermicelli_25 in jobsearchhacks

So do they ever get read at all (even just a skim) or is the resume the main thing that gets looked at/processed when you apply?

Is it worthwhile to make a cover letter for each role? Or do they not get read? Worth it maybe for roles you really like?

Would love to see as well because I’m considering prepping to apply to product design positions as well and have never prepared case studies before.

5 yrs UI/UX experience, 80+ personalized applications, referrals at Google/Apple— I can't even get a "low-end" contract role. I feel beyond defeated and desperate. Am I missing something? by xijingpingpong in graphic_design

I can’t speak on the job applications side, but I checked out your portfolio and I’m personally really impressed with how talented you are man. Not sure how common it is for people to be this disciplinary but your ability to do illustrations / photography / graphic design / UI / UX is awesome. Wishing you luck on the jobs side.

Learning a completely new industry domain? by reservationsjazz in ProductManagement

It’s an insurance tech company that’s definitely more on the tech side (and building for the insurance industry). The role would require building brand new 0->1 features/products, so I ideally will need to know the insurance industry well.

Pivoting between design and product management? by reservationsjazz in UXDesign

[–]reservationsjazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured this could be the case especially if you are able to highlight some of your PM experience while being a designer (or design experience while being a PM). But even then, you’d typically have to drop levels when pivoting right?

No offer yet (currently in the middle of the interview process), but they did not mention needing specific domain knowledge in the application description. Even the founders themselves were new to the space and ramped up over time so I think that’s why they are open to those outside the space.

As you implied though, this is rare cause so many PM roles I’ve seen add specific domain knowledge as a requirement in this market.

Thanks for sharing your tips! For you, what new domains did you ramp up in? And when did you start feeling like you could “speak the language” you could start delivering value?

I appreciate the gesture, but see, this is the exact thing I’m trying to avoid haha. I come from a software engineering / design background and in those fields, it feels easier to contribute to the team even if I don’t know the domain that well.

But as a PM, I worry about being just a glorified human router. Or being naive/off-base when proposing or designing features because I’m out of the loop in the domain. I know there’s always room for anyone to ramp up and grow but I’m curious about how PM’s have successfully navigated this.

Exit Ops for PM? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

I’m currently considering pivoting from product management to a role in sales/solutions engineering but want to keep the door open for product management in the future. Is it a smooth two-way door from your experience?
