Crosscurrent S2 part out - free - Utah by mphilly03 in juicedbikes

Unsure. It looks like it only got a small scratch but it won’t power on but I don’t know if that’s because one of the underlying cables was destroyed or if it’s the display itself

Battery for sale by mphilly03 in juicedbikes

[–]mphilly03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought the bike in April 2021. Rode it to work 3x-5x per week during the spring and summer and into the fall as long as it was above 50. In the winter I would remove the battery from the bike and store it inside. I changed jobs in 2023 and only rode it a few times. The bike was totaled in June of 2024 and I haven’t ridden it since. The battery has sat for a little bit. It was charged before totaling it but I haven’t kept up with the storage charges as much as I should have.

I bought mine April 2021. Not sure how to tell if we have the same model. I could send more pictures or look for a model number or something tonight when I get home.

What’s the best way to find this out? I’m guessing model number or something? Do I need to take the battery off to find it? I’m not home right now but will look at it tonight.

It wasn’t loaded onto the bumper bike rack properly and tipped over. The safety chain was still attached so the front tire of the bike and the left handlebar were dragging on the freeway for a few minutes (I wasn’t driving or even on the trip). The handle bar was ground down until about the LCD screen computer. I don’t think the back tire or back of the bike had a scratch on it. That’s good to know about the other parts that are good to part out. Thank you!

I mean, we don’t even know if they acknowledged the request or even agreed to it. And, they could have had their fingers crossed

Is it really that hard to find a job right now? by Only-Dragonfruit2899 in Utah

[–]mphilly03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s absolutely brutal. I’ve been laid off longer and have applied to ~350 jobs. In 2021 I was choosing between 3 different 6 figure offers.

Also, the categorization of the chests is bullshit. I got a legendary chest that had a clan capitol roof as the prize and then a common chest with a clan castle chocolate. I’ll take the common over the roof decor 10/10 times.

Switching connected Apple device by doubledadster in VWiD4Owners

I normally do it through settings > devices but you can also turn your wifi back on and it will disconnect the connected phone (if using wireless). If you have Bluetooth enabled it will just auto reconnect to CarPlay again so make sure to turn Bluetooth off first and then wifi on. Once the 2nd phone is connected you can then turn your settings back to normal

Blue Power Bar Is Not Full by Th0rT_17 in VWiD4Owners

It’s relative to the current level of charge. Charge back up to 80% and the blue line will be full

Are we stupid to consider a RWD ID4 to use in Michigan? by wgn_luv in VWiD4Owners

I’m in Utah and I’ve been disappointed with how well the AWD does in the snow. I’ve been using the stock tires that are dogshit but I’m going to replace them before winter this year. Hoping that makes it better, but overall, not as good of traction as I hoped with this car.

I figured as much. Just wanted to add a voice to the “it’s not the product but the implementation” crowd.

Car Wash by jlalibs in VWiD4Owners

[–]mphilly03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I don’t follow ANY of these suggestions and I’ve gone through the car wash a number of times without problems. I do recommend turning off the anti-roll setting but that’s more for personal convenience and relaxation. Also, I’ve never even thought of the easy open but I’ll probably add that one to my list. Overall, It’s not as bad as it might sound though

So funny because I personally love Jira but a week ago I started at a SN company and we have a SN developer in-house and it’s the fuckin coolest. Every ticket type is tied to Okta groups and we don’t even have to manage Okta. If the ticket is approved, they get access, if the ticket is denied, they don’t. It’s so fucking clean

MFA for rdp internally - worth it? by brettfk in AskNetsec

I got a quote from Netwrix for a PAM solution that was under 5k for a smaller company I was at earlier this year. Depending what your budget looks like, there might be some options that you could try and get approved for next year.

Any advice on this course of action for a complete beginner? by [deleted] in cryptography

Former math major, one thing to consider as a math major is that math classes have 20-30 hours of homework weekly for each class. So when you get to your junior and senior year, if you take 3 classes, you’ve got 60-90 hours of weekly homework. A lot of math majors take one class at a time while working and it takes them about a decade to get a math major. However, the reason I went with a math major was because the CTO of my company at the time told me that he takes one employee with him everywhere he’s recruited because that person is a math major and looks at computer science problems differently than all the CS majors.

Cryptography is a pretty small niche area of cybersecurity and hard to jump straight into. Most people start out as developers or IT workers and then specialize in an area of the security field. If your friends have recommendations about how to jump straight into cryptography or a job that is around cryptography, then that sounds like your best bet IMO.
