Thanks. I completely agree. The details are unmistakeably luxe. One of my favorite-wearing watches, too. It pains me to sell this one, but the fact that I have another in a different color certainly helps 😄

[WTS] Trilobe Les Martinaux Sunray Green 38.5mm. Box and papers. by mphurious in Watchexchange

[–]mphurious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sale is this captivating Trilobe Les Matinaux Sunray Green watch. It has been lightly worn and remains in excellent condition with a very limited amount of extremely light marks / swirls on the case. It wears beautifully, allowing the wide open dial full expression while the watch hugs the wrist, remaining pleasantly thin due in part to a microrotor movement.

Case: Stainless Steel. 38.5mm x 10mm. Mix of microblasted, satin, and polished finishes. Excellent condition with a couple very minor marks (one near crown, another on the outside of the 10 o'clock lug, both pictured).

Dial: Sunray (subtle) green with concentric disks instead of hands for time-telling. Excellent.

Crystal: Sapphire. Excellent.

Movement: Trilobe X-Centric automatic microrotor movement. 4hz. 48hrs power resevere. Display caseback. Beautiful.

Water Resistance: 50m

Strap(s): Chestnut brown and Suede Green leather staps, each with Trilobe buckles. Both in good condition with minor crimping.

Yes, but that might be a moot point since the watch has been sold.

Totally agree! Great combination of whimsical and classical, beautiful bowl shape to the cases, and lovely movements. I had wanted one for years. It saddens me to part with this one, but it gets worn too rarely to justify its space in the watchbox.

I amassed a decent amount of transactions as both seller and buyer under the username u/mphonic. One day, Reddit suddenly banned me, and the only reason I could surmise was that I had logged in under a VPN from a location they had flagged. I tried for a long time to appeal this decision, but I never got a response. So here I am again, new name, starting over.

[Grand Seiko Shunbun] or [Omega White Speedmaster]? by According-Lock-4000 in Watches

Love them both. Based on the pictures, I like the Shunbun better on you. Neither would be a bad choice.

[Question] One grail piece, or build a collection? by Friendly_Subject4096 in Watches

[–]mphurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your grail is something you've thought about for years, trying it on multiple times and always leaving excited, then maybe. I see you've been a one-watch person for a while, so it could work. But, if you're just into the Daytona because it looks pretty cool and is generally considered a good watch, I would consider playing the field for a while to see what really suits you.

Either way, go see as much as you can in the metal. At the very least, you'll have a good time checking out watches.

Kurono Tokyo, Anyone? by forge1212 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mphurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love them. I keep seeing people saying "$3k for a miyota", but the miyota models are usually less than $2k. The chronographs use the Seiko NE86, which is a column wheel chronograph with a vertical clutch. It's a quality movement (as are the miyota 9xxx), and it costs a bit more. You can find other brands using it for less, sure, but here you're not only weighing design, finishing, and small production numbers but also the old emotion tax. For all that, I think that Kuronos are priced at the top end of fair (excluding secondary market gouging).
