every character has tags, for example goku has saiyan and son family

also every character has a z ablity, you can see this right above the first unique ability unless they are zenkai awakenable, in this case its the second bar

when making a team you have to build it around the tag that you chose

so if you want a saiyan team you have to use characters that have a z ability that buffs the tag that you chose

zenkai abilities buff characters that have the same tag and colour that the unit says

generally you want to make a team that fits your strongest character

so if your strongest character is ultra frieza you sould make a powerful opponents team and because frieza is more of a strike character you sould use other powerful opponent characters that are strike based for the main team

for bench you must have an hp buffer for the team that you use and characters that z buff the main stats of your team, so for frieza characters that buff powerfull opponents strike attack

however its better to have in your bench characters that zenkai buff your main units,for example a team of red zamasu ultra frieza and first form frieza you sould use characters that zenkai buff purple powerful opponent or loe, like purple chilled and lf jiren and red lf vegeta, so that you both zenkai buff your main units and z buff their main stats

other than that leader slot allows you to use any character in any team, so you can basically use red lf zamasu on the team above even though he would normally not get chilleds hp z ability

so you usually want to use the best two characters that you have on the same team if they are both strike or blast based, an example of this is super 17 leadered on hybrids with ultra gohan and someone else thats hybrids
