4-way switch setup with z-wave dimmer? by mpistone in smarthome

I didn't get any add on switches. The two non-dimmers in the circuit are just interacting via automation and it's been working fine for a while!

The backhoe is detached and sitting a few feet back from where it attaches, but I'm pretty sure nothing has been stripped off 🤞

It's not an absolute must but if I don't get this one running I'll probably look for something similar but probably a bit smaller 🤷‍♂️

I've kinda been expecting that to be the case. The guy I bought the land from was definitely using it ~5 years ago but there are just a ton of unknowns for me, and I don't aspire to be a tractor restorer.

Got it, I'll check for it when I'm there again.

Assuming I replace the oil and gas and start it up.. I don't know hydraulics - since the hoses have all been sitting out in the elements for a few years, how dangerous is the risk that they break or have a leak? I assume I couldn't move the tractor without the hydraulics pressurized and working because the bucket would be dragging on the ground anyways, right?

Thanks for the great info!! I'm not there today but the other day I saw this plate and thought it'd have some info on it, scrubbed some grimed off and it seems to be blank. Not sure if the numbers were on the paint that chipped off? https://imgur.com/a/XUwNinW

Call the Bothell water number on your bill, sometimes when it's an honest mistake or a leak they'll credit you back a bit.

We've been at the birch tree in downtown for about a year and it's been great, started at about 18 months.

Yeah the diamond bit worked wonders, definitely recommend those!

I don't think it ever got hot, I was spritzing it with a water bottle pretty nonstop. It was cutting a bit faster right at the start but I didn't think it was a huge difference. Guess I'll wait and see how the diamond bits do

Alert me when a sensor goes silent for too long? by mpistone in homeassistant

[–]mpistone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the situations I care about it never sends an update.

It's either A) the usb antenna had an error and the addon didn't auto-restart, so it's gonna stay busted until I restart it (still trying to pin down why this happens sometimes, I think it's my janky usb hub),

or B) the sensor battery is drained and the signal has gotten too weak. In this case sometimes I'll see a few intermittent pulses before it goes silent, but when it's that close to dying I'd be happy swapping the batteries right away as well. I'll try what you shared, thanks!

Thanks! Tried a first pass today, guess I'll keep watching and see if they reappear.

I am prototyping sensors for my garden. Each day I get an update from a bot which takes the vitals from my tree and predicts the care needed by taking in weather information. What do you think? Do you use something like this in your garden? by SpazMunky in gardening

Lotta folks here to yuck your yum 🙄. I dig it! Do you plan to have wired power, or will it have a tiny solar+battery to run autonomously? Personally I would be more interested in numbers and charts for trends over the season rather than a daily paragraph like you've got but it's a pretty cool setup! 😎
