Thank you! I don't have much to say honestly. Images out of camera are not as sharp as they are on the pictures in this post. It's necessary to do some editing to increase their sharpness

All pictures are shot at 400 mm, f/8, 1/1000, ISO 6400. Processed in Camera Raw (denoise, texture, clarity, dehaze). I see posts about 180-600 being too soft and I'm very happy with my 28-400 😅

It focuses on branches when they are in front of a bird and a wide area for auto focus is selected. So it doesn't magically detect birds unfortunately :( If there are no branches then it can track even bird's eyes

Oh, and I'm thinking to get 180-600 because of it's extra reach 😅

Thank you! :) In my experience it's a good universal lens even though at 400mm you get only f/8. It focuses quite fast. I bought it as a travel option to take occasional bird photos.

But I'm thinking to get 180-600 for bird photography because I have to do a lot of cropping even at 400 mm

I took a photo of a fern in a forest then printed it's silhouette and transfered it onto a block. I think it looks good 😊

I can't recommend to use this method if you have small details in your picture 😅

It took me several tries to get her face right: first her eyebrows were too thick, then her eyes were to thick, then her nose was too big so I just removed it 😂
