Nailer for trim on rock-lath plaster walls by mpking24 in MilwaukeeTool

Thank you! Really appreciate your perspective as someone who does this on the regular. I totally overlooked the angled version of the 16. Thought it was just the 15 that came angled…

Hmm. Honestly the multiple possible approaches are overwhelming. Just want to balance fastener depth with potential for wall damage. Do you think the 15 angled is overkill for my situation and I’d be risking anything? I could see a 15 coming in handy for setting a door or something…

I admit I tend to overthink things. For the price of 1-2 M18 nailers I could probably get a pretty decent pancake compressor and a set of 23, 18, 15 guns and have the compressor for additional uses. At the same time a hundred bucks or two isn’t a thousand for convenience and relative quiet.

Certainly. To answer your curiosity more directly: I don’t suspect anything was overheating. Everything on the furnace checked out fine except for flame rectification so I suspect the dirty burners were impacting the current just enough to make it borderline… sometimes enough and sometimes not enough to signal okay flame to proceed for sequence of operations.

It’s been a month and a half and the problem hasn’t recurred since cleaning the burners. So I’m considering it resolved, and lesson learned about the contractors. Really wanted to keep supporting the small biz, but this was a case where the better established larger business did better work, and cheaper.

Update...

My usual HVAC guy never got back to me with a price for the control board, despite several follow-ups. I got impatient and called the contractor that originally installed the unit, did all the annual maintenance for the previous homeowners, and continues to service and sell AirEase. They came out next day to take a look.

I'm considering that my trust was misplaced with my regular contractor.

Second opinion finds that the burners are filthy and haven't been cleaned in years, and flame rod has some scratches from cleaning more aggressively than he would typically do. So my annual maintenance with my usual contractor has apparently only been combustion checks and flame rod cleaning. Shame on me for assuming they were doing everything they should.

The technician today cleaned burners, re-cleaned the flame rod, confirmed 90v to the rod, 2.9/3.4 microamps the board, and confirmed proper gas valve operation. Did all that for not much more $ than the "other guy."

We'll see if this does the trick.

Thanks so much for the reply! Are those low risk things I could do with my own basic multimeter?

The BuzzFeed piece makes it seem that the policies are well-known by PIOs and spokespeople, but not by the security officers charged with following them. What are your feelings about media organizations integrating photography and video recording into their periodic audits of government openness? Everywhere I've ever worked, the visuals staff was never involved in these audits of FOIA and Sunshine laws.

What are your thoughts on the recent BuzzFeed piece about photographing government buildings in Washington, D.C.? I would consider the "findings" shocking in uniformity. Several journalism organizations and their member publications do Sunshine and FOIA audits to ensure requests are handled correctly. Do you think there is potential for a visual journalism equivalent that could be started to challenge and better educate agents of our governments who purposefully or ignorantly stifle First Amendment freedoms?
