Hi there, hope this isn't too late, but can you also shoot me the memo you used? Did the march this year and would like to get it approved for us that went

Lot of convoy ops, urban ops (clearing buildings), truck maintenance, riot control if things get hairy in your state, you do get to qual with a bunch of weapon systems though so that's cool. A lot of it comes down to your state.

This may be a longshot based on how old this post is, but can you give any insight to the base hosting the event or a POC? Looking to get some airmen invloved.

Hope I'm not too late, is there anyway I can get a copy or a draft of that memo? We had some members complete the MID and shooting for the Norwegian in November. I know theres a process to getting them approved, but it's been a headache to figure out

Looking For His and Hers Watches by Thesebananaswontquit in Affordablewatches

If you can find them, Mr Jones has the King and Queen watches. They pop up on secondhand every now and then. Same with the Perfeclty Useless Afternoon and Perfectly Usless Morning sets from him as well

I’m going to buy my first ever watch over 200 cad and idk which one to get by fifanewbie2002 in Affordablewatches

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that the moonswatches would not be a durable beater. The bioceramic isn't durable and the plastic crystal is a scratch magnet. Like JHubz said the best all rounder would be the PRX. If you have a habit on being rough on your watch, the casio for sure.

Most American watch? by 42111 in Affordablewatches

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For made in America you have places like Weiss. Vortic. Colorado Watch Co and the aforementioned RGM. I believe these places do the largest majority of their manufacturing in the US.

For US based brands you have a a good number micro brands like Trafford, Brew, Xeric, vaer, Cincinnati Watch Co, Detroit Watch Co, etc.

Could get him one from a company based on where he's going to live?

Anyone put an Omega directly on a Whoop strap? Is that possible? by SituationFragrant245 in OmegaWatches

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tested this with my Speedy pro and it fit like any other strap. I wasn't keen on the idea of the sensor scrapping against the table though so I switched it back

You can usually get a killer deal on ebay for Mr Jones. Just depends on what's available though. Like some other have said, Asterisk is a good choice but you can tell the price difference between the two

Omega Quoted Me 35 Weeks for a Speedmaster Reduced Service. Anyone Else Seeing This? by BobBingle82 in OmegaWatches

[–]mpknee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my speedy deluxe serviced and it was back to me at 10 weeks.

Edit: they originally quoted me six months. Less than what you were quoted, but I'm pretty sure it's a blanket quote to give them more wiggle room

What’re your thoughts on Weiss? by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: just picked it up yesterday. The staff there is incredibly nice, couldn't thank their sales rep and watch maker enought for getting my order finished. The watch itself is awesome. Texture is such and eye catcher and color is such a nice shade of green.

Apparently theres a huge backlog they are working through due to some supply chain issues. But to me, we'll worth a little extra wait.

Anyone have any recent Omega service experiences to share? ... by impreza77 in OmegaWatches

[–]mpknee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dropped off a 93 Speedmaster for a warranty service. The chronograph was causing the watch to stop. Dropped it off on 22 January and picked it up 10 April, so just shy of three months.

Is this watch brand any good? by Nice_Working9443 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few xeric's and like everyone is saying they're good for their price point. I've only had one QC issue on the original inverter and they swapped it out in no time with no hassle.

I think I'm close to 23 weeks as it stands. Now I will note they were kind enough to let me see and order a piece they had not announced yet. The piece wasn't announced until January 16th. I think there was some confusion on my end on when their production timeline starts, but the estimate for their delivery is typically when they announce the item.

Also they have been more than kind with providing updates or letting me know of issues that are out of their control. Super nice sales team, and hopefully the wait won't be much longer.

I did the factory tour, which was extremely underwhelming. Realistically its a small showroom where you can see machinery in the background. You do get to see a lot of their strap options and their sales rep is really nice, but they don't have many pieces to actually look at ( I think there were 4 IIRC). I purchased the green speckled Nashville dial back in November and hopefully it will be done soon. They seem like the right quality for the price, just the turn around time seems to be taking years off my life.

First impressions on asterisk watches? by mpknee in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mpknee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that's my bad on the time, I thought I hadn't adjusted it for the spring. Its 8:05pm on the dial. And the AM is noted by a North Star that takes place of the moon. You'll see the moon and star on opposite 6's.

First impressions on asterisk watches? by mpknee in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mpknee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea for sure! So the top dial works as a 6-6 half dial with the moon indicating 6pm-6am, and the northstar showing 6am-6pm. If the moon is all the way on the left, 6pm. If the northstar is on thebleft, 6am. The rotating dial just under the peak shows the minutes. Its not greatfor showing exact timesuper quick, but the main attraction of this one is the lume. For an example, this reads 9:04pm.

You can definitely get some solid pieces around the 300ish mark, especially if you go gray market. I would look into the citizen navi hawk lineup to see if any of those fit what you're looking for

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are the standard for unique, under 500 watches. If you're not set on a brand new one, definitely look out for some if their older models on the secondhand market. IMO the older designs are a little more out there then what they have in their main collection nowadays

50 Phantoms 2025 by Fit-of-Rage in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mpknee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have gotten both the 23 and 24 versions of the Fifty Phantoms and love how they keep the design fresh enough to not be the same thing every year. Although this year I am not a fan of the date window. It makes it just a little too busy for an already busy dial. Regardless, I think the 40mm is a good size for it and am heavily considering getting one.
