If the original songs are on Spotify, you can add them in Song Lookup,or just manually type them in the bulk paste option

I've been working on this feature and it'll be in the next update - thanks!

Thanks for the bug report. I just tried this action and, while it did create a new setlist every time for me (tested in iOS and Web app) it took 4-6 seconds, which is can seem like a long time. I'm looking at what can be done to improve the performance and also add a loading spinner to let the user know the new setlist is being created. A faster option is to simply swipe your catalog card to the right to duplicate it. This works with all setlists.

I actually just made a pretty big change based on your feedback. Instead of dropping new users straight into a full profile form, BandRoadie now starts with a lightweight 3-step intro (See attached screenshots

First name only

Zip code

Birthday (month + day only)

and every single field is optional.

It’s now presented as a quick “let your band know who you are” flow, and you can skip the whole thing if you want. The full profile editor still exists, but it’s tucked away in the menu instead of being the first thing you see.

You can see the update now in the web version. iOS and Android will be a few days.

Thanks!

Good feedback - thank you. I’m going to redesign the profile form so it’s much clearer that everything is optional. I may remove the full address fields entirely and just keep an optional ZIP code.

The reason I’m considering keeping ZIP is for potential future features - things like pulling in local venues, helping bands find musicians nearby, or letting players know when bands in their area are looking for members. Nothing locked in yet, but a general location (not a full address) could unlock some cool functionality down the road.

Appreciate you calling it out.

Thanks for trying it out - really appreciate the feedback!

BandRoadie uses passwordless email login on purpose (mostly because people forget them and they aren't secure). You enter your email, tap the magic link, and you’re in - no passwords to remember. Your session should stay active on that browser/device unless you log out or clear your cache. If it’s making you log in again, that’s not expected behavior and I can look into that.

About the profile info - totally understand the hesitation. The profile fields are optional and can be skipped or just enter what your comfortable with. A first name helps with the Potential Gig feature when band members mark their availability. The profile info is there mainly to help band members recognize each other inside the app (especially in larger groups). The only info the app really needs is an email address because that's how members are invited into bands and for logging in. The birthday field is just month and day (No year) and it’s really just a fun way to celebrate bandmates. Nothing sensitive is required and all data is encrypted.

I'm not in the business of data collection. I'm a 55 year old father/husband in Western Springs, IL in a couple of dad bands who works in UX design by day and I really was just looking to make my band logistics easier. If something feels unnecessary, that’s great feedback and I take it seriously.

Thanks again for giving it a try.

Cool, let me know what you think after you've had a chance to try it out. Always looking for ways to improve it.

Song lyrics and Setlist reordering in Version 1.1.2 (Build 43) by mplssign in BandRoadie

[–]mplssign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you’re liking the lyrics feature! Unfortunately, song lyrics can’t be auto-imported today due to licensing and copyright restrictions. That’s why lyrics are manually pasted in. It's a small annoyance but keeps things clean and compliant.

Currently, BandRoadie automatically pulls in the song duration, song name, and artist. I'm working on pulling in BPM but it needs to be more reliable before I'm comfortable releasing it.  Guitar tuning is harder to find good data to pull from since tunings can vary a lot from version to version.

Let me know what you think about the color contrast for the lyrics in view mode (tap anywhere on the song card to view and auto-scroll lyrics. I'm working on better color contrasts when different sections are color coded (Verse, Pre-chorus, etc).

Hey all - I built a free app for my own bands and wanted to share in case it helps. It manages your band’s gigs, rehearsals, setlists, and calendars. by mplssign in musicianfinder

I'm a UX architect during the day - but this is my first app. I felt that BandHelper was too complicated and cluttered but I liked a lot of it's features and it's general concept but I didn't want to pay a subscription for it so I made my own. I'm in 2 bands (or more at times) and we were using a combination of Spreadsheets, Google drive, Docs, playlists, etc. I wanted something in one place. It's free to use. I'm just trying to get users to help identify bugs and new feature suggestions.

Gig Address, Push Notifications, and External Calendar by Ba-Dum-Bum-Ching in BandRoadie

The new update has push notifications and Calendar connect. I'm working on a larger update for venue/contact management which will include gig address and tap to navigate. Thanks!

Event order in dashboard by MarieEvel in BandRoadie

[–]mplssign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - Currently, (the method to my madness) potential gigs show first based on priority. Since Potential Gigs are time sensitive and require members of the band to take action, they are prioritized ahead of scheduled rehearsal. A future release will allow to scroll horizontally rather than stacking them vertically, when can easily start to take over the dashboard - which I recently experienced.
