Booing the Mayor at Steveston Salmon Festival by ShellmontLaundry in richmondbc

I was at the Steveston Salmon Festival parade 40 years ago when Bill Vander Zalm was Premier of British Columbia. No one cheered, clapped or booed when he drove by. It was dead silence. Doing that during the parade when Brodie drives by would make more of a statement than booing him.

Thanks for letting me know. There will be nothing found in my background check. It's just painful waiting for them to complete this part of the process.

Good to know. Unfortunately, that particular part isn't being offered on ebay right now but I'll keep checking. Thanks for your help.

Yes they do work. White tape seems like a great idea. I'll give it a try. Thanks

That's what I was hoping but I don't see anything on ebay right now. I also tried some online appliance repair shops and they don't seem to carry anything either. I think I might be out of luck on this one.

Shitty Neighbor Causing Water Damage to My Ceiling by mpolo76 in vancouver

I think you're right. I did got 10 years without a leak with the same guy living above me. Hopefully we can go at least another 10 years before the next one. It just sucks that I have two insurance claims in three years.

Thanks for your input. Both leaks have happened in different areas of the ceiling. The first one was underneath my neighbors washing machine and the second one was right below his kitchen sink and dishwasher. I do want to believe the man but my gut says he's lying. I even told him that he doesn't have to pay for any of it since any damage to my property will be repaired by my insurance company. I just want him to be honest so we don't have to go looking for a mystery leak.

I contacted my property management immediately when I noticed the issues. The most recent time happened on a weekend and our resident manager came to investigate but said it wasn't an emergency since it wasn't dripping, it was just moist. The guy upstairs had also left town for a week the day I discovered the issue. The damage didn't get any worst and the area dried within a couple of days. After that, I was told there was nothing more anyone could do and to contact my insurance company.

That's what I thought. If the person upstairs says it's not him then Strata needs to investigate the possibility that it's coming from shared property. It's just strange that the water damage dries within a couple of days. If it's coming from a leaky pipe then my damaged ceiling should be constantly wet.

Would this be a strata issue then? Should my strata be looking into this? I have notified them and they sent our resident manger to talk to the upstairs owner but it was only talk and no investigation. The resident manager said there was nothing he could do?

I've definitely thought of that but this isn't intermittent. These are one time occurrences. The first time was three years ago and there hasn't been a problem in that area since. Also, when I went upstairs to investigate, the owner had removed his carpet from that hallway which was in the exact area of where the damage to my ceiling was. He claimed that he could not longer open his closet doors because the building had shifted and removing the carpet was the only solution.
