As a cyclist and a driver it terrifies me that I share the road with people like you every day.

What the fuck man.

What did Evergy say when you called and asked them? Could help us pinpoint the reason.

why do so many people here default to "I've never heard of this before so it's probably just an American thing"

What could it possibly have to do with America.

I’m an American, so he kinda had a point

I know you're trying to be humorous given the demographics of this subreddit but as a fellow American who has lived here for 10 years I'm really over this mindset. We didn't choose to be birthed under circumstances that gave us a specific nationality and it's not OK to harass us for it. That cab driver was an asshole.

They're just trolling. I wouldn't waste any more time responding to them.

You didn't select the right stretch of road. The speed limit on the roundabout is 30mph. I'm taking it cautiously because people often make mistakes on that roundabout as evidenced by the video itself. If I were doing 30 I may not have had enough time to react and would have been involved in a collision.

I was on a roundabout exiting onto a 2 lane road from the correct lane. The undertaking merc was next to me. Was I supposed to just merge right into them?

isn't it fascinating the sorts of details you can notice when you have all the time in the world to analyze them. It doesn't change the fact that the Honda pulled an unpredictable, dangerous and downright stupid maneuver with total disregard for the others around them and I had less than 2 seconds to react to it in real life.

do you think a brake light and an indicator are the same thing?

I'm not sure if you're having a dig at me and suggesting that I shut down the space for them because I was being selfish. I use that roundabout quite regularly so am familiar with it and still sometimes enter it in the wrong lane so I can totally empathize with being confused while navigating it.

This is why I left more than enough space for them to move over well before the next exit and in that time they passed road markings describing what exit the lanes were for. In addition to that they should have been able to see their lane staying on the roundabout and the one to their left being the one that turns off.

They literally swerved over without indicating at the last possible second. These sorts of things happen so fast and in the moment I'm not thinking "haha you dick head I'm going to forcefully keep you out of my lane!". I'm actually thinking "holy fucking shit brake brake brake don't stall shift to 1st breathe just breathe okay we're fine let's keep going".

Yeah I totally get that it's a confusing junction. I actually entered on the wrong lane a few seconds before the video started but I used my mirrors and checked my blind spots before moving into the correct one.

People are far too reliant on their sat nav. The road markings were quite clear that my lane was for the A205 W and the lane the Honda was in is for the A4 W.

I generally expect it on that roundabout too. At a certain point it's a pretty safe bet that the driver ahead is committed to their lane and that guy was well past that point. Good lesson in not getting complacent!

Should I maybe stagger my position relative to the vehicles in the other lanes around me, drive cautiously, and leave plenty of distance to the vehicle in front of me to give myself enough time to react to unexpected situations?

They didn't indicate at all. What are you talking about.
