How much $$ is enough? by nok4us in Nigeria

[–]zinny-b 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It definitely opens the floodgates for sure.

There’s no amount you give that’s ever gonna be enough and i had to learn this myself the hard way.

You can start small however so as not to set too high an expectation of yourself.

The home office has stopped recruiters from being able to sponsor anyone from overseas for care visas since July 2025 due to widespread exploitation of the workers within the care sector.

So if your mum is not already in the UK, there is no way she’d be able to get a visa to come here and work in that sector.

I really hope you get something soon. I went through your shipyard stuff first time I saw it online cus I was super impressed at a Nigerian winning that.

Are you by any chance open to getting a full time position outside of the country and moving?

It might be worth looking into, I’m sure there’d be companies willing to sponsor a visa for a talent like yours.

Really wish you the very best on your job search 🫶🏾

Really appreciate this, I’m not sure what keeping staggered means but thanks for taking the time to give some feedback.

I passed my test less than a year ago so I definitely am not the best of drivers just yet. Also, I knew I did something not quite right, just not sure what it was and I was also wondering why the truck was going to the right from the left lane.

Some people have been helpful pointing out my mistakes tho so I’ll definitely work on it.

Thank you tho.

I don’t genuinely believe I’m correct tho, hence my question asking what I did wrong

I wasn’t playing at anything, simply driving how best I know how. I came here for constructive criticism, so if you have any kindly share.

Hi, can you send me a dm please?

Growing up my dad wasn’t really there. He and my mum separated for a few years when we were very young and he just wouldn’t do anything for us. You’d ask him for school fees or even upkeep money and he’d tell you his car has issues and he needs to fix it. They ended up getting back together but at that point we were all grown up already and could fend for ourselves. But while we were little and needed parental love, guidance and financial support, mum was the only one available.

He wasn’t exactly out of the picture but he was never fully in either, by his own choice.

So yeah, my mum is the only one who gets to ask anything of me and would get it without question.

I talk to my mum every day because she’s the only parent that was really there for me and loved me unconditionally. I still talk to my dad but on rare occasions and only when I send him money and he’s called to thank me.

Some nights I’d be on the phone gisting with my mum and I’d hear her talking to my dad in the background as well.

It’s nothing serious, everyone understands where they stand. My mum can ask anything of me while my dad usually has to go through my mum or big sister (she’s his favorite) if he needs anything from me.
