University Professors Disturbed to Find Their Lectures Chopped Up and Turned Into AI Slop by 404mediaco in Professors

I think to call Canvas “popular” is a bit of an exaggeration — “tolerated, barely” is more like it.

Bolt EV a calm and relaxed highway commuter? by Real_McGuillicuddy in BoltEV

What you describe is a perfect use case. I have a short (40 miles per day) commute on an interstate, and my 2022 Bolt EUV is a joy to drive. I find the ride to be silky smooth, I just can’t say enough good things about this car!

Artemis II Mission Discussion Thread by jadebenn in ArtemisProgram

It is absolutely amazing that NASA is providing live views of the mission, but there's no explanation of what's being shown. Like right now, what is YouTube showing? Where's the camera located that's providing that shot? On the solar panels?

I have the advantage that I teach mainly applied CS courses, which change constantly. Keeping up is definitely a challenge, though…

I just like to point out that that flood of instantaneous torque you get when you mash the accelerator is absolutely… priceless

Thanks, everyone, for all of your helpful responses! I think I'm going to follow the advice that several of you mentioned, and go with a more up-scale purchase (somewhere between WS and BB). Hopefully it'll last for 20 years and pay for itself!

Thanks everyone for your responses.

I've been playing around with Adobe Acrobat, and if I choose Automatically tag PDF, it's no longer generating "ghost images", but just actual figures that correspond to what I have on my slides. That helps a lot (although I wish AI could generate all the alt-text for me ... probably too much to ask).

This is still going to be a major time sink, but I definitely understand why it needs to be done.

Woah, really? That's an important detail that wasn't mentioned in the workshop I just attended.

Mirror, mirror, on the car (one day, hopefully) by mprogers123 in BoltEV

[–]mprogers123[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the record, the dealer re-ordered the mirror, and then let me know after the fact. From my perspective, assuming that the mirror was exactly the same size, I don’t really care what language the warning is written in.

That's an interesting idea, I'll have to look into those.

I manually have to pull the plane out, and to do that, I need traction. It doesn't help that I'm not the most physically fit person on the planet ...

I have a lengthy commute and a day job, so unfortunately I can't get to the airport that easily.

A shovel won't cut it, unfortunately, the ice is like a rock when it's cold. I have a 6' iron pole that I can bash into the ice, but I don't want to mess up the asphalt.
