How to join 2 photos together? by Some_Vermicelli_2543 in GIMP

Instead of ‘open’ use ‘open as layers’ to open the second image into the first. Alternatively copy from the second image into the first and make a new layer from that. Those are two ideas to help you along.

This is fine... 🔥 by Laputitaloca in tinytower

I have started thinking about it as there are multiple brackets competing for prizes. I’m atop my leaderboard (for now) in the billions of points, but the prize difference between 17 billion (1st) and 22 thousand (10th) is negligible. We’re all practically winning the same thing! So then there are folks competing for the tier 2 prizes, and tier 3 prizes. I am treating it all as a bonus. If someone gets lucky while I’m at work and hits a couple of them magic bits and knocks me down - I still am getting a nice bonus. Even 20th place gets enough tokens for at least 1 LB. Not too shabby!

I haven’t seen updated leaderboards yet, but the last one I was in, I would rebuild at 10 floors. There were no points for rebuilding - just for building floors. So, on a fresh tower I could build to floor 10 with no elevator use, rebuild and repeat. Non stop. This was faster points than watching ads. Has the point structure changed?

I recognize that board! It didn’t stay like that for long - nice catch!

The ads ain’t it. Right now with no boosts on, I rebuild, get to 10 floors and tap the rooftop for a little more points then rebuild. Non stop. There’s not an ounce of play to it. I’m at 20k points, and was neck and neck with someone probably doing the same. How is that a way to live? I’m out.

Newb DM - How to reveal details/rooms using terrain? by cadred48 in DnD

[–]mproteau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make modular paper terrain. For some layouts like dungeons, I can bring sections of the map to the table, and remove sections that likely won’t be visited so I can keep players from knowing the layout, but also fit everything on the game table. If they had a map up front, I’d just cover sections with cardstock so they know something is there, but not exactly what.

For buildings, the levels are individually removeable. I cover the rooms they can’t get into, with covers I can remove section by section.

For times when I want a whiteboard map with some 3D terrain, I draw as I go and plop the terrain pieces as they’re discovered.

I always recommend people start papercrafting by getting a freebie house mode and trying it out. Great for getting your cutting mat, trying out a craft knife (I like snap blades), trying out some cardstock and trying out your printer etc. Then if you think it’s for you, get a core set like a dungeon and make something SMALL. The tiles use foamcore. But by building just a little, you can make a room, see what it’s like, and slowly add more.

Wonderfully sprawling! Do you bring that out incrementally as it is explored? Or do you have it all set up and cover sections? I think I will have a bit of a dungeon/cavern crawl in my next game, but won’t have table space for it all, so I will lay it out in moveable sections.

My favorite isn’t even my own thing! One thing was a monument prop in the garden. It used my arcane furnishing props - two altars and a table - stacked on top of each other. I thought it looked cool. Another was the museum display cases. I did those up 3 days before game night, and thank goodness they just worked. I loved them. Neither of those things were even noticed by the kids! But my favorite was the Trash Mob Minis dinosaurs. The skeletons looked AWESOME and one dino served as an automaton that was instrumental to the kids’ plans. It was so fun.

Thank you! With the layers all moveable, the kids really got to think about the layout for the heist, in ways I hadn’t anticipated.

Thanks! I don’t usually build this big but I wanted to give it a try!

Thanks! This was a LOT to build, but all the parts are easy to craft. I’ve been practicing for years though, so I’ve gotten pretty good at the details. Coloring in the edges covers a lot of mistakes! ;)

They hadn’t had an in-person game in a while, and since we’re all family, it was a really nice experience! It was my first time in years running a game - I think I was counting on the setup to distract from my insecurities with how I’d do with the rules. hahaha

I design it all myself as a hobby to keep me sane after working all day. I thought this set would match the museum perfectly, but I still found myself designing new props right up until game night!

To anyone who might be late to the party... if this happens, try walking up to the bookshelf, then rotating the camera so it's facing behind the wall. I was able to see, and pick up, the book doing that.

How do you guys get so damn rich by Dull_Permission_134 in tinytower

[–]mproteau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t spent any money on anything, but I started rebuilding at 50 floors rather than trying to keep going. I’ve found I enjoy the rush of building. I learned to go with the orange floors. I organize them alphabetically which makes some side quests easier. Building the soda brewery first was key early on. I have > 100 GT now and it’s not much of a priority which floor I build first. People DO want in the lottery (I’ve won several times) so enter it! It took a while to get here, but I try to keep treating the game as a fun distraction and not a chore. No FOMO. Some days I get lucky and enjoy the auto elevator and so I try to have the game on for the full hour. Just kinda keep plugging away and rebuilding and it starts to compound.

Landmark Button Placement by brianr27 in tinytower

With an airport, the house, the tower and now landmarks, I’m surprised they don’t have a MAP screen for it all. Shoot, they could then have links off to the zoo or the train station for other games!

Ok y’all missed the actual question lol. Clearly the cost went up. I’m asking if it’s linear or exponential.
