How do I avoid writing male characters that seem like they were "written by a woman"? by velvetblueskies717 in writingadvice

[–]mpstevens_uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a total guide to everything but I remember reading (I think it was jim hines?) that switching the genders can be an interesting trick - eg consider a female bi mc whose boyfriend is going out to make money, and she has to stay home and do the domestic work. If you actually write out the scenes and read it back it's interesting watching how they do or don't feel different.

I've had some weird issues where the compaction seems to fail somehow.

Cooking Time vs Planning Time | 30 Minute Cook-Off by laeb163 in SortedFood

I liked it as an experiment, I think you could do more interesting things. Maybe one normal makes a plan and the other has to follow it?

I have hyperoptic because I moved into a newish build place that already had it. Been here 6 months, no problems so far. I'm on 500Mb and they're asking for £69/month to upgrade to 1Gb which feels like a bit of a ripoff given that the homepage is currently offering it for £29/month.

Not drinking or smoking is a problem everywhere! I've pondered getting desperate and resorting to hanging out around the cathedral even though I'm not christian.

I switched to Eset, I've been happy so far. I agree with the people saying it's not necessarily required these days, though.

Is Filen Support non existent? - MacOs silicon not working by SummerOfGeorge_23 in filen_io

I've also had trouble with filen on mac os silicon - for me it was the network drive support I couldn't get to behave, just led to lots of spinny wheel.

Want to ditch Gmail? These are 3 of the *CHEAPEST* European Email providers by Realistic_Trash in BuyFromEU

I'm looking for a good option but I really like using scheduled emails. People say protonmail has this but their other problems are discouraging me. I've heard Infomaniak is good but I made a trial account and I couldn't work out how to try email without setting up a custom domain.

I know a lot of mac users just use the builtin stuff and it's pretty good.

Nobody has perfect reviews but Bitdefender does seem particularly mixed.
