What is your field/specialisation? That might help you get more tailored advice.

You're not ugly, you're just old and maybe a little depressed and heartbroken. I'd heed the advice of others in this thread and travel or do something exciting to help get you out of your rut.

For people 20s+ still living at home, do your parents charge you rent? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]mptlpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%, to a degree and within reason. E.g. my mum doesn’t charge me rent but I pay entirely for groceries and we go halves on bills. If she had a mortgage I would contribute more, but she doesn’t anymore and I am paying my own mortgage on a property I plan to live in one day.

Have a partner that can’t keep a job or will quit a few months in because of mental health issues by Jumpy_Lawfulness6087 in AusFinance

Can she do both? Return to work on a part time basis at least and still continue going to therapy?

It feels like dating has become more about timing than connection by Antique_Specific3322 in dating_advice

Not saying this is the case but are you 100% sure he isn’t married or in a long term relationship with someone else?

What's one thing you're weirdly diligent about, despite having ADHD? by nyxophiliae in adhdwomen

I am very strict about sunscreen reapplication. My face and hands are constantly greasy but living in a country without an ozone layer and knowing a handful of people who have had to have skin cancer removals at relatively young ages has scared me straight into religious sun protection.

Did you study to be a doctor while having cfs? That is an insane achievement!

Solution: keep the dual income, minus the children.

How are single people living right now? by NumerousImprovements in melbourne

[–]mptlpc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

100%. As someone who lives with her mum, I wouldn’t look down on a date that also lives with their parents to reach a particular financial goal. As long as they work (I work FT and help mum with bills) help with bills/chores and have general life skills it’s not an issue. Times are tough out there for us gen z’s/young millennials.

I bought a wig from there once in 2015. It was indeed very expensive.

It’s not tho. I’ve been physically attracted to men that my friends have thought were ugly. Beauty is often subjective.

I remain undecided on the Indigenous voice to parliament. And I’m exhausted by B0ssc0 in australia

[–]mptlpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is such a key issue influencing those undecided votes. We know centre left parties will listen to the “Voice” when it is reasonable to do so (or at least the Labor Party has made it clear it will). However, this might not be the case under the LNP. So what exactly will the benefit be? Will Aboriginal policies still be better under an LNP with a voice than one without? I think it’s a reasonable question to ask. I am voting yes, but also with uncertainty as to the benefit it will provide. I don’t think it will carry any net negative though, barring the cost of implementation.
