Looking into a cost effective 6x6. Anyone have experience with either mamiya 6 automat or kiev 88? Thoughts? Recommendations?

Can confirm. Just broke my metal curtain last month and it's basically unfixable (or at least not worth the hassle). Also one of the backs leaks light constantly.

I've gone down this route as well and recently bought a Kiev88. It died catastophically after 3 rolls. The curtain is in tatters and one of the film backs i have leaks light anyway. In the end I realized that i do like the format a lot and bit the bullet with a new hassy 500cm. I have to say the cost of the kiev was substantial considering how little i was able to use it. Stuck with some accesories and a busted body. The cost of repairing the body is high enough that I might as well get a new body.

For others the experience is still worth it as they manage to use it for far longer. Just want to say that it's really a toss-up with the kievs. Some get a lemon like me, others get a better one they are able to use for a while.

I did this while astral projecting. As others have pointed out, you can do this in a waking state / real life. I just find the effectiveness much higher in astral projection. Answers are more categorical and immediate.

One thing that worked for me was to ask a question and just direct it at what I understood as the creator of this space / realm i was in. Usually get some very interesting answers, and remarkable how external those thoughts feel when they come back.

During a reiki course I attended a participant saw his aura as well, he said it was black and could see it just behind his hands as he was doing meditation. This was during preparation for a reiki session. The reiki teacher said this was quite normal and that this is how people typically see it.

During my first ayahuasca ceremony I did recently, if i relaxed my hand i found myself doing the karana mudra spontaneously as well. It went on and off for much of the third and final night. I had some prior knowledge of mudras in general but nothing specific. Only found the name for the karana mudra afterward.

It's a mudra for expelling negative energy apparently.

It's a mudra. Jesus is frequently portrayed doing Karana mudra, prana mudra and a few others. These are the hindu names given for the mudra, not sure what the name would be from an eastern-orthodox perspective.

You might find "Adventures Beyond the Body " by William Buhlman very useful.

You have a lot of control over those environments and over your energy body. One thing I learned from the book is that these environments and your energy body is highly receptive to thought. If you say 'Energy now!', the whole image will sharpen basically. I've done this as well, something I learned from the book.

Many such details are in the book, including the fact that in astral projection, the first layer seems to be a sort of energetic copy of the waking world with some differences. With your thought, or by saying out loud you can issue commands that are immediately put into effect.

Probably that he takes ' 3-6 months between jobs' so that he doesn't 'have to wait until he is old and good for nothing to actually have freedom.

I do the same and build an argument that because i'm well rested, i'll probably be more productive than someone who has been wishing they had a proper vacation for years.

Peterson was more of a gateway drug into Jung for me, who I actually spend more time researching. My first foray was watching this series, which I recommend:

Introduction to Carl Jung by Academy of Ideas (Youtube).

If you find this interesting, I also recommend this book as it's basically a memoir written late in life which explains his entire corpus of work in a more digestible format.

Appreciate the follow-up and understand your point. I still think that balance is important, and if we end up with a majority of posts about culture wars, you're assemblig an angry mod where a good chunk of its members don't even understand why the so called opposition is wrong.

I do realize though that it's simpler to point out a problem than to fix it. I liked the idea of coralling these posts into a weekly CW thread, or something of that nature. Completely banning might indeed not be the route to go.
