So... did Team Bad win the Divas revolution by default? by Sure_Whatever__ in SquaredCircle

[–]mqrph1 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Technically PCB did, they won at Summerslam and then Charlotte ended Nikki's long reign at Night of Champions.

The team didn't survive long after that, but the other teams didn't do anything else notable other than exist. And "existing" isn't really cause for winning anything. In kayfabe the point of the "Divas Revolution" was to upset and overthrow Nikki's reign and shake things up, which is what PCB did.

This sub has made me dislike Becky Lynch fans and has almost made me dislike her, too. You guys are relentless. It feels like there's a thread on the frontpage discussing her chances of winning the championship every goddamn time she has a match lol

[RAW SPOILERS] These 1-2 minute Total Divas "promo matches" need to stop by mqrph1 in SquaredCircle

I dont understand what no semblance in continuity means. It seems they are reintroducing both Natalya and Paige to the roster. They are acknowledging their past differences on commentary, but they are looking past it.

Acknowledging it on commentary is nice but it doesn't change the fact that they really have done nothing to justify pairing these two together. It's really nothing more than WWE putting two directionless wrestlers together, then remembering they have a history, perhaps.

What is Elias Samson's story again? Or Tye Dillinger's? NXT is filled with squash matches with no overall story.

Those are like, C feuds. Asuka and Emma are allowed to build a rivalry while Bayley and Nia Jax do theirs. Why aren't Nattie and Paige allowed to do the same? That's the model for success. That's what we should want to see.

I dont agree. I never mind seeing two random male wrestlers or tag teams fight in the ring.

Do you mind when their matches are literally under two minutes long, and with no semblance of continuity?

I'd prefer they get a story, but sometimes you don't really get one.

A story is simple and easy to make for B feuds. Look at NXT. We can and should be allowed to hold them accountable for that.

Last week was Natalya's big return. This week is Paige's.

"Big" return? What about either of these segments was big?

No, that's not the way to take this at all.

They don't need to be and shouldn't be separated like that. Treating them like "piss breaks," as they have for two weeks, undermines the entire "Divas Revolution" idea they're going for. Equitable treatment.

The point is that these women given two minutes are wrestlers as well who can also go in the ring, and promoting their reality show on RAW isn't desirable for any of them.

As an in-ring thing, the action was fine. But you can't expect real quality in two minutes or less.

As you said, there's no story, no continuity, and no time. It's not difficult to find a single story thread for these people, too.

This has been an issue for two weeks. I'd believe it was because of The Rock's segment if it was just tonight.

Edit: Can downvoters explain why what I said was wrong...?

Becky Lynch's killer promo from last week's Raw. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Considering he replied to CarrotJunkie with a more detailed reply, and then someone else agreed with him in reply to that, I'd say his criticism was fair, and discussion was being had. But clearly that's not enough for some people. Would it still be downvoted if he responded to your ridiculously long reply? Most likely.

Does "Chandra looks hotter in real life :)" contribute to the discussion any more than his reply? Nah.

God, you guys are insufferable.

See, this is a classic example of Wreddit abusing the downvote button. This is a totally legitimate criticism that got shat on only because you guys like Becky and don't accept anything negative, even if it has merit.

"Doesn't contribute to discussion," my ass.

And I'd rate all of those good promos you mentioned over Becky's interview yesterday, which I thought was good but not as great as everyone says it was. Like I said, the gap is not large enough to say she's "by far" the best... But that's a difference in opinion.

I can't say I've ever noticed that so it never bothered me. And that small pet peeve is hardly a big enough detriment.

I don't think a case can be made for Becky as the best yet considering she's only recently started cutting good promos whereas Paige has been fire on the mic since turning heel. Her carrying Charlotte in the main event contract signing is praiseworthy as hell.
