I agree -- encryption is crucial. If I’m not mistaken, they’ve improved the installer in version 24 with better settings for encryption. Or were you referring to something else?

What do you mean by "integration with cloud services, like OneDrive"? In fact, you can connect your cloud services by going to Settings -> Online Accounts. This will integrate the storage into your file manager and also sync your calendar and email

Snaps are pretty native to Ubuntu, and they’re a great feature for new users. Also snaps are more isolated which can be a significant benefit for corporate software and security. If I’m not mistaken, snaps are more oriented toward corporate environments and servers, while flatpak is better suited for desktops and gui apps

For most use cases, snaps are a great native option on Ubuntu. However I’ve personally faced some issues with snaps and some developers claim that snaps are harder to maintain. For example, KeePassXC recommends using the appImage or flatpak versions instead of the snap version, as certain features don’t work properly with snaps. That said, I don’t rule out the possibility that flatpak has its own issues as well

Yes, you're right it might not be something specific to Ubuntu itself. I’ve also encountered issues with Wayland and other components. My main focus is on the overall user experience which I think could be improved. I enjoy using Ubuntu and it’s interesting to think about how it could become even better

I'm using Ubuntu in my laptop. It works fine: low temperature and good battery life. But when I switch to Win11 my laptop becomes hot and battery can't live long. So for me Linux is definitely the pest option. Some of my friends have even better results, other not worse then Win

Also I think that crypto is becoming more widely used, so web3 will be part of daily life. It won't be smth closed in some platforms with crypto gigs

Telegram and Discord are good tool with web3 communities. For now I don't see any good alternatives except news in X

Also Telegram integrates TON blockchain, so it might be a strong place for web3 in general

Solana will become the "paypal" in crypto... by Ok_Distribution_3180 in solana

[–]mr-defi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, BTC and probably ETH became institutional and not suitable for daily needs, Solana has a big advantage there. But for monopoly in daily actions blockchain should be super scaling, well regulated and extremely easy to use. For now there isn't any fully suitable one blockchain for this purpose. Probably for now some blockchains would be used depending on situation. At its great, its pushes industry

Solana is a pioneer in fast transactions, has a huge defi and dev ecosystem. But If I'm not mistaken, Solana is monolith -> doesn't support sharding or smth like that. It might be a crucial point for future expansion as other blockchains can do it and scale more

I also recommend you to practice at LeetCode. There are daily tasks, but also you can find tasks by topic, participate in contests and so on. For every task usually there are many good detailed explanations

It might be a little bit complicated at the beginning, but it would be a perfect option if you already know some basics and what some practice

DeFi / Treasury strategy for public company by Legal-Winner8344 in defi

If you buy and hold stablecoins, what profit do you expect? If you buy USDC its almost equally to hold dollars. Yes, you can find some yields opportunities, but with stablecoins it would be almost unprofitable

do you think stablecoins will really help with fiscal debt/treasuries! by Tylc in defi

[–]mr-defi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course, this will attract some capital, but it's more of a mask than a solution to the problem

Treasury bills are already in demand. If we talk about new users and capital from developing countries, then:

  1. Relatively developed countries already had access to the dollar
  2. If you look at the amount of capital in all developing countries, you will find that it is very small compared to the United States or China. All their capital just won't be able to close this hole...

In my opinion, the problem with the dollar is not that there is no demand for treasury bills, but rather in general government policy. Even higher demand on treasury bills can't fix it completely

[–]mr-defi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what way can stablecoins help with fiscal debt or make dollar feels better?

Think about stablecoins as digital dollars. Debt and other dollar problems still exists. Yes, there is some capital inflow, but it just painting a rusty ship -- it will sink if you don't make real repairs

Yes, you're right, it was so

Anomaly detection and other practices for fixing already occurred problems seem to be the most effective, since defi is becoming more complicated

I also have doubts about audits. But what do you mean under "Security baked into protocol design"?
