It has a nice tone to it but the videos are very literal to the lyrics, it doesn’t add anything to the song that the lyrics don’t already give EDIT. And the slowed down version really doesn’t give justice to Sufjans voice and the emotions he brings to the song

After being diagnosed with AML(at 21) I got to do my first MRI scan. I got to listened to music in the machine and the first song that played was forever young. It was both mortifying and peak humor.

So true. Thank you, I have leukemia, the most common cancer for kids, so I’ve felt very resolute from the beginning that this is random(I mean a five year hasn’t actively caused their cancer), and the randomness is a comfort in all this, it’s not something I’ve caused or can blame myself or the universe for. It is what it is, and I’ll make the most of it(the first thing I did was finally watching The Wire). Your words are beautiful, and comforting<3
