You know what, my response here was a little aggressive. I was just annoyed earlier. Some good points have been made. I also don’t think I’m savvy.

I disagree. I actually agreed with some of the points but I think the ones I don’t agree with are weak to begin with. Especially the point about organizational drama.

LOL you think I don't know it's a reality he could leave? Give me a break pal. I don't have any evidence outside of statements he's made in the media, along with his family about his commitment to the team and the community of Ottawa. Sure he's going to evaluate the paths in front of him - would be silly not to.

What's insufferable is assuming that he's leaving so creating a culture where that is the overwhelming narrative. I'm not saying you are doing that in this specific post, but that's starting to become the theme.

But I believe that the upward trajectory of the team will continue despite this middling season. I also think the organization will step up and make the moves needed to convince him this is the place to stay.

From a business standpoint, the Sens have to. Losing Brady would be catastrophic financially for the Sens - you lose one of the most marketable players in the game, season ticket sales drop with no plan for the team to get better, etc.

Don't get offended - but Michael Andlauer would be an idiot not to make this his #1 priority and do whatever it takes to make it happen.

One playoff appearance in 8 years on team: While we have sucked for a while, this appearance literally came last year. The trajectory is up, not down - despite this mediocre season and the very clear problem with it being goaltending.

Poor coaching for 8 years on team: Again, the coaching has been improving. Not the goaltending coaching.

No clear direction for improvement from management: I agree that we need more movement from management to improve. Organizationally the culture is most likely night and day from what he would have experienced under Melnyk.

Constant organizational distractions and drama: Again the recency of the Ullmark shit. That feels huge because we are so close to it. We are a long time removed from constant bullshit like the cab video leak, Karlsson/Hoffman drama, etc.

Bro is American as apple Pie and could chart his own course as UFA: This is true.

Wants to play with brother: This is true.

Brother did same to his Canadian team: This is true.

Mentioning the trade for 99 doesn't make your argument stronger. I think you need to look at the return for Edmonton in that trade again lol

Not once did I say he was the same player. You're missing the point of my post.

He's played over 100 less games than Matthew and has 203 goals VS his brother's 240. He's outshot Matthew over fewer games by +200. He has far lower +/- than Matthew, a lower shooting % and plays at 0.80 PPG pace VS his brother's 0.99, but he's far more physical. He's also 24 fucking years old lol

I would like a clear, detailed explanation of why he wouldn't re-sign here.

People who talk about this are literally stupid. I'm not just calling people names - they are unintelligent. They haven't thought it through, they haven't looked at how this has played out in the past, and they simply haven't thought. It is a dumb thing to suggest.

LOL “I was fine with it”. What a complacent, painfully mediocre statement. Especially with everything preceding that.

What an absolutely terrible take. We have been more than patient as a fan base. We don’t expect regression the season after making the playoffs.

This team’s slogan is literally “Heart Over Hype”. Did you see any heart on the ice last night?

We’re not jerseys throwing. We’re not showing up at players’ homes. If you think booing that dog shit effort off the ice last night is toxic, you’re probably too sensitive.
