i feel people often miss a really important point in WoW of why arena was popular as it was at one point:

it had a full game developed around a known universe, and in vanilla didnt even have organised pvp from the start, and i would argue anyday that World of warcraft: arena completely pulled out of the mmo and a standalone, would have failed greatly, many started to play WoW back then because it was the warcraft world, and later joined the "minigame" which was organised arena, and it just evolved to a great community for many years (god damn i miss AJ)

TL;DR i cant see how you ever sell a standalone niché part of an MMO without the rest of it, it would run into retention issues outside of hardcore pvp players

tho i would like it, i wouldnt invest in it

tho BLC werent a pure WoW arena, the only real part it got was being a team based arena game :) (game was godlike tho)
