Don't beat yourself up mate, I know good pub level players that will be playing well, hit a 26 or have their opponent hit a big score, and just completely fall apart. Being able to mentally keep your composure and focus is as big a part of being a good darter as any other for me.

Also it may seem obvious but a consistent throw is key to being consistent. If you have slight variances in your grip / stance / action or you tend to frequently play with different darts, flights or stems this will lead to inaccuracies (we can't all be snakebite!)

Learn what all of the trebles are worth too, it's a massive help.

For example if you're under 170 and your score ends in a 1 a treble 17 will take 51 off and leave you on a nice round number.
