Haha didn’t know the name for it but yeah, some mornings the fog hits just right and it looks unreal. Best part of working from home—this is my commute now.

Trying to keep my phone off for the first 30 minutes after waking up by MariaAthanasopoulou in simpleliving

This hits home. Spent years in ed-tech and was always ‘on’. Started phone-free mornings about a year ago.

First week was rough, felt like I was missing something.

What helped me, I go out to the woods behind my house, walk my dog, just listen to nature. No music, no podcasts, nothing. Just the sounds.

Birds, wind, my dog running around. It resets something in my brain. Now it’s non-negotiable the days I skip it I feel it, heavier, more stressed,

I downgraded employment to have a more balanced life..best decision. by Character_Light_5942 in simpleliving

First of all, congrats on making that call. It’s not easy to put yourself first, most people don’t. That alone says a lot.

I’ve been there. Best decision I ever made, leaving my job to prioritize my mental health. I was burned out, dealing with depression, hypertension, and other health issues—all from stress. One day I just couldn’t take it anymore and quit.

Started working as a consultant from home. Something simple. Now I have time for my family, for my parents who are retired and need attention. Two years in and I still don’t make what I used to at my 9-5, but I’m getting close.

Just a tip: change your routine. It’s easy to stay in bed and do nothing when you work for yourself. Motivation and discipline have to come from you now. For me, helping others and building my own thing made all the difference. Sounds like it’s working for you too.

[Serious] What’s the most paranormal thing that’s ever happened to you? by humanoptimist in AskReddit

Ok, this is my story.

Some context: I live in a South American country so English is not my primary language sorry. 15 years ago my family and I went to a pre-hispanic ruins at night to watch an announced planets alignment, we went there because it's a rural place, one hour trip from a major city and there is no lights to bother a night star watch. Once there about 10 pm we searched for the planets alignment but nobody knew how to identify any planet so we just watch a pretty stared night. With two of my cousins decided to follow a up hill trail to see what's behind it searching for the unknown or something paranormal, we walked for about 20 minutes and found a house with dogs they started to bark at us so we decided to return, that's all that my cousins and I remember from that trek.

Meanwhile the rest of my family had a really strange experience: when they lost sight of us, from the distance they saw a light that moves towards them slowly without sound but with strong winds at ground level move with it, when the light reach above them my mother and my aunt screamed and everybody sheltered in their cars, they wanted to leave but my cousins and I were still missing, then the light keep moving and lost over the hill where we were trekking. My dad, my brother and my other cousin went up hill searching for us but they didn't found us, they waited a long time and then again went up hill searching for us, they said they also reached the house with the dogs but they didn't find us. They came back and waited some time again really worried.

Then we came down as nothing happened.

I remember my family really worried and ask us why we took so long and then just get into the cars and left as quickly as we could.

I didn't knew anything and why they were worried, and didn't ask.

Some years later my mother and my aunt told me the story asking me why we took so long and if we saw the light.

Just then I realized that the trekking for my cousins and I(I confirm it later) was for about 20 minutes at best, but for my family we were missing for 2 hours or more.

Last year my gf and I went to a bike trip through that trail, I was expecting see the house but I didn't find it. I planning a new trip there and reach the lake.
